UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH

14 Dec 18:00 EUSA & Staff Pride Network are hosting a trans solidarity event at Teviot.

The same day, “Edinburgh Academics For Academic Freedom (EAFAF) will be hosting a screening of the film ‘Adult Human Female’ and related discussion. We believe this event will contribute to an unsafe and unwelcoming environment on campus for our trans members.”

Contact the University Secretary ([email protected]) or EUSA VP Welfare ([email protected]) to voice concerns!

Looks like students have obstructed the showing of the film.

So they’ve won. Robyn Woof, a self identified trans woman and Trans Liberation Officer has stopped women from watching Adult Human Female. Scotland 2022. Thanks @NicolaSturgeon t.co/mFEOnxB2uv

How fucking predictable

OP posts:
DameMaud · 14/12/2022 19:32

I'm confused what happened? In the second video excerpt it sounded like RW came alone to watch the film? Did it go ahead or get stopped?

Imnobody4 · 14/12/2022 19:46

From what I can gather from Susan's Twitter thread - 3 students occupied the venue with a crowd of others blocking the entrance. I'm not sure what happened to security.

Apparently the police have arrived so not sure what's happening.

Helleofabore · 14/12/2022 19:59

Obviously there is no security there.

How proud will that student be when their image is on news services for not allowing women to show a film about women and their needs?

And this individual blocked it. Because they cannot handle not being centred in a women’s meeting. Petulant male behaviour. It is so often the way, they cannot hide it.

nilsmousehammer · 14/12/2022 20:17

Male successfully controlled and censured females.

Penis power!!!

Toseland · 14/12/2022 20:28

I just saw a snippet with a long haired bloke claiming to be an adult human female?!

AndEverWhoKnew · 14/12/2022 20:33

Yy he did. Perfect example of how education standards have fallen.

I'm very tired of security firms and police being incapable of actually, you know, securing or policing events.

I get closer every day to hosting one of these events because I know I could employ security/bouncers that were not flummoxed by some students.

The irony is that the security and bouncers at any student union have plenty of experience of dealing with whiny entitled idiots who want to be somewhere they can't (usually back inside after being put out). Funny how they can't find that resolve when it's about a film showing.

Here's Robyn Woof. Interested in period products.

Helleofabore · 14/12/2022 21:06

Oh what a surprise arabella! What a surprise!

Ofcourseshecan · 14/12/2022 21:07

Strange that those who contribute to an unsafe and unwelcoming environment on campus for our trans members are trying to watch a film, quietly in their own room, while the terrified victims are using their male muscle power to disrupt the meeting.

EsmaCannonball · 14/12/2022 21:10

If you told people that there are countries where women are no longer allowed to gather together or politically organise without the supervising presence of male chaperones, they'd probably think you were talking about Afghanistan or Iran but it's happening in the UK and US and Canada and Australia, etc..

This is how the Staff-Student Solidarity Network explained its opposition to the film: twitter.com/sssn_edi/status/1603118693059334148

Want to add that the long statement begins by not getting the definition of being gender-critical right. It begins by stating that gender critical means wanting everyone to be slotted into rigid social and economic roles based on sex which is so untrue that I can't quite understand what sources they consulted for that idea.

So everything from that point on appears irrelevant to me, but it is still a good thing that this long statement exists, as at least it's not just #nodebate.

Good god, there's writing on both sides!

NoFlowersForEmily · 14/12/2022 22:22

Would I be right in guessing the lovely Robyn is a furry with that surname or it an unfortunate coincidence?
Crybullies. They are so predictable.

KittensNotMittens · 14/12/2022 22:24

They should have played it on loudspeakers and watched them melt like the wicked witch. Little twits.

MingeofDeath · 14/12/2022 22:33

I'm really starting to hate theses fuckers

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 14/12/2022 22:37

I hope that if one of the Uni students did hit and spit on a woman there that they are arrested and charged!

Helleofabore · 14/12/2022 22:50

That statement seems to show how little they listen to women and understand what we talk about. And how deep is the denial of reality as far as the attacks already and the mounting numbers of women and children harmed. It is like they believe if they keep saying the words people will believe them. Yet we simply need to keep pointing out the prison stats, the numbers of males conveniently ‘detransitioning’ as they leave prison and ask how many women and children are acceptable ‘collateral’ while they keep denying what is happening.

Idiots.

Helleofabore · 14/12/2022 22:56

I notice they use a 2007 stat rim California when what occurs now with trans prisoners in prisons there is completely different.

They have the gall to talk about the film’s makers ‘poor’ research standards.

Dreikanter · 14/12/2022 23:02

Robyn seems like a real sweetie and not at all into re-educating the non-believers.

studentnewspaper.org/interview-with-eusa-trans-and-non-binary-officer-candidate-robyn-woof/

Only by educating the cis community and gaining allies will we achieve liberation.

I am really upset and angry that not only does the university employ a number of academics who are vocal terfs, but some trans students have also been assigned them as personal tutors.

This is a corker:

Black and minority ethnic (BME) members of our community face so many challenges, as a white woman I will take my lead on these from them

They can't block it if the film is projected onto a building, as Led By Donkeys has shown more than once.
