Whether people think it’s a good idea or not, the fact is we are currently on a fast-paced trajectory to losing all of our sex-based rights. Scotland is almost there. If anyone’s got any better ideas, please step forward.
Nothing seems to be stopping this. I’d even argue that the wins we are seeing are increasing the ferocity, pace and determination of self ID lobbyists. Groups can quietly and politely lobby the left (I know the tories did so much damage - but we are currently looking at a future Labour gov), - but current action is not having the desired impact at the pace we need it. When I was handing out leaflets at Primark - many were still unaware of what is going on, they were outraged when they knew. We need everyone to know, we need many more to be outraged. I think we are now on notice - two years. If current predictions are right, Labour will win the next GE, if we can’t get them to talk about/realise the implications for women’s safety within that time frame, I think much is lost. Imagine if we are sat here in 2 years time wondering why none of us took the opportunity of a GE to make our voices heard. Good on KJK for taking the opportunity.
