This could be interesting! She’s saying she’s going to stand to force him to talk about the issue.

omg 👊

UrsulaPandress · 05/12/2022 17:41

I want to see his face when he found out.

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 05/12/2022 17:42

Your wish

KJK to stand against Starmer
GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 05/12/2022 17:43

It's quite a genius move.

I look forward to Starmer's cowardice & disregard for women's rights getting more sunlight.

There'll be a few mainstream news media also in a tizzy over this. How will they be able to manipulate coverage to make KJK look like the 'bigot' under the strict reporting rules that apply during an election?

This will be very interesting indeed. 🍿

CriticalCondition · 05/12/2022 17:48

Wow.
I cannot wait. I wonder if Keir has seen what she did to Adrian Harrop in that Sky interview. I do hope so. 😁

Ch3wylemon · 05/12/2022 18:02

I actually wonder if this will help KS out. He clearly knows what a woman is but dare not say it to party activists.

Meanwhile the actual voters by and large also know what woman is. If Keir is brave enough to admit to biology - and remember the Cass report and other recent events will help him out - it will help the former red wall seats return to the fold.

Meanwhile the metropolitan elites can tantrum and the Greens / Lib Dem's could pick up some urban seats but probably not enough to stop a labour majority.

I hope.

Booklover3 · 05/12/2022 18:14

Fingers crossed he does address the issue!

Next General Election is to be no later than Jan 2025. Only 2 years away, canvassing and hustings would obviously begin before. I think this is a genius move. Starmer believes Labour will win the next GE, he won’t want this sort of publicity and the awkward questions around the election - it may even make him firm up his position before then. Then we will know exactly where he/Labour stands, rather than ‘respects single -sex spaces’, but wants to bring in Self ID. Of course she wouldn’t win - but she will force a topic that Labour don’t want to address and keep skirting around.

Yes, she's going to hold his feet to the fire. And in doing so make all the other parties, and the public, acutely aware of the flames.

Starmer might want to invest in some pricy Raybans because the sunlight is going to be blinding.

👏👏👏👏

Floisme · 05/12/2022 18:49

To think that Starmer might have avoided this if he'd only met with the Labour Women's Declaration Grin

MajorCarolDanvers · 05/12/2022 18:56

But she will go to all the hustings

He won't. He will be campaigning all across the UK. Some local councillor will stand in.

Exactly Starmer and Labour have brought this upon themselves and I thank KJ for being willing to try to show up their ridiculous position to the wider electorate.
Personally I will never vote Labour ever again as they no longer believe in 'freedom of speech' and have failed to heed the lessons of Orwell's '1984'.

Pickawindow · 05/12/2022 19:09

Do it! Do it!

BlackForestCake · 05/12/2022 19:22

One thing is puzzling me. We know that a vital layer of the Labour Party’s structure – branch officers and the like – is invested in TRA ideology. People will argue that Starmer needs these people to keep the party running so he has to pander to them.

But Starmer hasn’t exactly been concerned with keeping the old guard left-wing footsoldiers of the party on board.

What kind of hold do the bluehairs have on the party that he can’t just purge them too?

Pickawindow · 05/12/2022 19:32

@BlackForestCake because it’s not just bluehairs it’s lots of powerful men in positions throughout our society.

ExiledElsie · 05/12/2022 19:33

Do we need to rejoin Labour, start turning up to meetings and asking questions about this area so the party know women will not just be forced to accept trans ideology.

They are mostly young. And more vocal. And connected to social media

tobee · 05/12/2022 19:40

Similar to why The Guardian have abandoned older readership, looking to the future generations providing the dollar in the years to come?

Toseland · 05/12/2022 19:44

I'm not sure the Cass report will help us - have you seen Barry's EDIJester report on youtube?!

Assuming you can get back in, of course: kareningalasmith.com/2020/06/27/why-i-was-rejected-for-labour-party-membership-and-my-response/

Toseland · 05/12/2022 19:53

Oh and 'go KJK!' What a great idee - we should help her in any way we can. X

BellaAmorosa · 05/12/2022 19:53

This is a very interesting development.

Msgrieves · 05/12/2022 20:04

Now that's a Woman you can get behind. I don't agree with everything she says, but I admire the fuck out of her. This is what a Woman taking up her space looks like, she is great.

Datun · 05/12/2022 20:14
