@WarriorN Yes, I’m in Canada, though a different province to this teacher. I worked in schools and can verify both that gender ideology is encouraged in schools & that in my province (in state schools) teachers often dress very casually.
I’m on my phone so can’t do a word search, but a look at the BC Code for Educators and the BCTF (teachers’ union) contract shows no mention of dress code that I can see.
It is incredibly difficult to get rid of, or even discipline teachers. They will lose their teaching license if it’s proven they sexually abused a student (including of course, older teens who they may claim provided “consent”). Other cases, including racism and sexism, can be more difficult. I’ve seen them shuffled to another school after hitting a young child.
Again, I’m not in Ontario (where the school in question is), but the teaching culture is quite similar in some regards in the two provinces and, as many have noted, Canada is well entrenched right now in “be kind” gender ideology and devoted to non-thinking.
