No I would not be happy about this at all. If it's real, it's just ridiculous that the students are expected to just turn a blind eye to it, and carry on with their learning, being taught by someone who thinks this is at all appropriate. I understand the school are probably in a difficult position with regards to the employment of this individual, but they could and really should be calling them up on h&s, and generally making sure all teachers are conforming to a certain professional dress code at work.

He knows it's a fetish.

I've got no problem with that fact.

What worries me about the affirmation model is that every so-called specialist is reluctant to call it that, and that we are training people (both those with the fetish and everyone else) not to see it that way. It's dangerous and boundaries need to be set.

I'm just staggered that the man in question has no self-awareness at how ridiculous he looks. Unless being ridiculed is another one of his fetishes?

For some men it is.

This fear is ridiculous really. Mean the "gender" isn't even relevant. Whatver teachers wear should be appropriate for the classroom. This isnt.

Firing them for mis conduct should be a no brained. Its not a trans thing. Its an u appropriate behavior thing.

Unless they are saying trans teachers need to wear huge fake breasts around their waists with nipples showing in order to participate in life? That's pretty transphobic to assume they are in fact incapable of behaving appropriately?

The low standards is the transphobia. Not pulling a teacher up for it.

Touché.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/09/2022 12:06

Yes it's quite a common one I think.

This seems weird. I don't see how anyone, whether trans gender or not, would be allowed to 1 wear a big wig without it being tied back in a class like that and obviously more importantly, be permitted to wear such obviously, grotesquely fake and suggestive body padding.

I agree that sources seem limited though.

Wig??

didn't even notice the wig 😂😂😂😂

This reminds me of the harassment of women lecturers at Vancouver Island University. They files a formal complaint back in 2018 about an adult male with a diaper fetish who repeatedly involved them in his fetish. I can't see any outcome to the investigation / complaint but the behaviour in terms of involving unconsenting others (and it's in Canada) seems rather similar.

Yes, hence quite a few prominent transwomen describing their humiliation fetish.

And this is the other thing, it's not good enough to exclude this person on the grounds of health and safety or whether he's violating a dress code. If he is bringing a fetish to work and using the pupils in order to act it out, he should be sacked and/or arrested.

Would you want your child to be taught by someone who looked like this?

I was expecting to moan at you for highlighting someone of unfortunate appearance...and then I clicked the link. Holy fuck.

Lol, I was just expecting a few tattoos or something! This is just crazy.

wellhelloitsme · 17/09/2022 13:35

@FlyingD

It is true though. So you've called it absolutely wrong on this one.

Justme56 · 17/09/2022 13:46

I guess if you base laws on gender identity and gender expression this is the outcome. I think there are many men who perceive what makes a woman a woman is the size of her breasts. As was highlighted in the Scottish GRA consultation some men transition for ‘erotic reasons’ but apparently this isn’t an issue.

Any sensible person would say that what this guy was wearing was inappropriate, but when you're so far down this rabbit hole, people just can't.

It's not nice that people become involuntarily involved with this guy's fantasies, but I don't know how legally classify that, unless he had clear signs of sexual arousal (which then becomes a child protection issue). Perhaps even us mocking the guy is helping his fantasy? (Not a pleasant thought).

After seeing a lot of young teenage boys (through links on GC sites etc) being told that their sexual fetish is in fact gender dysmorphia by various pressure groups and charities, I grew worried about a whole generation not even knowing that it is that.

Oh, are we allowed to talk about this, now, then?

Justme56 · 17/09/2022 14:55

I’m not sure but if I get deleted so be it. I’m only repeating the words of Naomi Cunningham when she spoke up at the consultation earlier this year.

ImNotAnExpert · 17/09/2022 15:03

If the school were to pull him up for this, what could they possibly say, though?

Males wearing caricatures of female bodies/dress has become not only normalised but elevated to the status of a higher caste. The wearing of fake breasts cannot be questioned - to do so would put the questioner in the position of being 'transphobic'.

This teacher is part of the 'most marginalised' groups of people and can therefore not be challenged.

Same. I was gearing up to type "I don't care what a teacher looks like or dresses like, whatever their sex" and then I clicked the link....

badbaduncle · 17/09/2022 15:36

I can't get that "do your boobs hang low" song out of my head now. FFS

Soubriquet · 17/09/2022 15:38

No. I would not be happy. That is not a real body and it’s clearly a fetish.

A woman under normal circumstances would never be able to do that. So why can this person?

It’s a fetish and the school are encouraging it.

Musomama1 · 17/09/2022 15:39

Well as @Datun says Canada has painted itself into a corner. I'd be interested in how it would play out with a female teacher, but honestly the only woman I've seen like this was Lola Ferrari from the Eurotrash days. She worked in the 'adult industry' right? not in a high school.

I mean he's teaching woodwork but this is an education in gender identity and fetish to the classroom. I hope these kids turn out more informed than the grown ups - they are witnessing first hand the extremes of allowing men to do whatever the f they want.

Soubriquet · 17/09/2022 15:40

Just wanted to add, would people be so happy to accept this, if a white person went in black face and insisted they were black.

People wouldn’t be so happy to go along with it then would they

ClocksGoingBackwards · 17/09/2022 15:42

Eww, that’s disgusting.

No, I wouldn’t let my child be taught be someone that thought that was appropriate for school and I would not allow them to be in a school where the management allowed it to happen.

Soubriquet · 17/09/2022 15:47

this made me laugh

I presumed it was one of the clickbait fake news things. It can't be serious 🤔

I thought this until I read it. There’s a video.

I mean even from a safety perspective, imagine getting those stuck in a lathe? Carnage!
