While this is great, I'm still shaking my head at the fact that it's apparently controversial to say that it's erasure to call women 'menstruators' and 'birthing people'. Women really are expected to just shut up and accept any old shit, aren't they? There's such outrage at women expressing upset at being called names they don't want to be called...apparently it's not 'inclusive' or 'kind'.

The "inclusive" thing is interesting. Because if you used the same logic for everything, the result would be completely bonkers.

What should be obvious is that inclusivity is a positive value in some cases, but not always, and you need to look at the justifications or argument or situation to decide which applies in a particular instance.

I really wonder if part of the reasons so many people struggle with this is that they are learning, from the wider culture, from school, that inclusivity functions as a universal principle? I've seen a ton of mission statements or vision statements for example that list inclusivity as one of their moving principles. Which is actually bollocks 99% of the time, they may try and include everyone within a certain group but they still draw lines that relate to their function.

It's got 37k likes now. More and more people are saying no to this ideology.

People are realising that the attacks on women’s rights, whether from the TRAs or the anti abortionists, all have the same root: misogyny.

Women have clearly got too big for their boots recently and the men need to beat them back down one way or another.

wow! yesterday I had my friends round for drinks. I played Bette Midler AND Macy Gray on my apple play, not be accident but by choice.
Bette Midler has a HUGE gay following so it will be interesting to see how this pans out.
She is fabulous live by the way, and a fearless comedienne so doubt she has stumbled into this.
