…and it will be BRILLIANT. Saturday 22- Monday 24 October 2022.
It’s a fabulous opportunity to meet, learn from and share with like-minded feminists. If you don’t know anyone when you go, don’t worry - you will by the end!
The website is www.filia.org.uk/ and here’s a video of previous highlights to give you an idea of what to expect. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEO6-HW6JdU&feature=youtu.be

I'm waiting for it coming to Scotland (next year I think?) then I'll be there...
Is it ok for young teenagers do you think?
EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 03/06/2022 15:14
Glasgow next year yes. And yes, possibly not all the events would be ok for young teenagers but there are plenty that would be!
BeyondPurpleTulips · 03/06/2022 15:19
We'll be there 🙂👍
BingBongSong · 03/06/2022 15:21
I've booked tickets for myself and dd.
EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 03/06/2022 16:38
Great 😀

Is there a programme out yet?

It’s going to be released over the coming weeks.

Me too 😊

Thanks op, last year was just amazing. The speakers were great, the sense of kinship between women who have never met, the atmosphere was just all incredible. I can't wait for Cardiff, I've trike never experienced anything like it before.💜

Truly*
EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 04/06/2022 18:22
I love coming down to breakfast in whichever hotel & spotting familiar T-shirts! As you say, purpleboy, the atmosphere’s incredible. I always come back knackered but thoroughly recharged at the same time.
Pluvia · 04/06/2022 21:26
I have my ticket.

I walked in with my "this witch doesn't burn" t shirt and bumped into Angela Wild.

Parking tanks right on the WAG's lawn. Is Holyrood next?
FemaleAndLearning · 05/06/2022 19:41
I wanted to book early on and could only come for one day but without even a draft programme it was hard to choose a day. I'll take a look now but wish they could have a theme for each day in advance.
It sounds a great place to be with other women.
RhymesWithOrange · 05/06/2022 19:56
I've booked for a second year in a row and can't wait. Taking my 14 yo again. She got so much out of it last year.

That’s brilliant!
I got chatting with the woman sitting next to me once & we realised we were both on FWR 😁

I have my hotel room booked for my first Filia conference. I am excited and petrified, as it will be the first time I have been away from all my family in 15 years!
Plus first time travelling in a wheelchair so not looking forward to using the railways assistance services.
But as I keep telling my kids, there is nothing wrong with being frightened/worried/scared about something but shouldnt let those negative emotions stop you doing things.
So I am taking my own advice, pulling up my big girl pants and getting on with things 😊
Hope to knowingly or unknowingly meet some Mumsnetters there. 😁
EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 06/06/2022 18:16
Good on you Worrysaboutalot!
Thingybob · 06/06/2022 18:40
Thanks for the reminder Emperessuarus, I will have to book my ticket (what do we think the odds are that JKR will be speaking?)
Am I correct that the venue hasn't been announced yet? I know it's Cardiff but it would be good to know exactly where before booking a hotel.
EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 06/06/2022 18:50
We'd all love JKR to be speaking, @Thingybob!
The venue hasn't been announced yet but it's very central.
BeyondPurpleTulips · 07/06/2022 14:13
I'm just waiting to hear where the venue is to decide whether I'm going to stay in a hotel or travel in each day...
@Worrysaboutalot - I did it on my own in a wheelchair with two children in 2018 (I think? manchester...). It was terrifying but we managed brilliantly 😁

I think it's been said it's very central and near to the train station.

Yes. I also think the hotels will fill up quite quickly so it’s worth booking reasonably soon.
