Hi , I've noticed a lot of deleted threads today on this board.
Glitch with my app or something more insidious?

@DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat
Which thread? Think I missed that one.

Summat about Annie Lennox being a misogynist or some other made up shite. Defo for the screenshots.

I was the op on the Tatchell thread that got deleted. There's a message saying it was taken down because the thread was full of speculation and not in the spirit of the site. I am a parent of teenagers, one of whom, my daughter is 17 with ASD and sadly very wrapped up in this gender ideology trend. I've been a long time member of mumsnet but until recently a lurker on the f&g board. I've gained valuable knowledge from reading the threads here and they've helped me so much to make sense of what I see as manipulation of our young people. I am angry that GMB allowed him to speak and give advice on what I deem to be a serious Safeguarding matter. I still don't understand why the whole thread was deleted.

ResisterRex · 28/04/2022 18:48

Don't understand it either @mrshoho. All the information was public information

jeffgoldblum · 28/04/2022 18:49

@mrshoho I'm sorry, i saw nothing wrong either.

OP posts:
jeffgoldblum · 28/04/2022 18:53

@mrshoho weird your thread came back for me a moment ago with op post missing, then disappeared again when I went to end!

OP posts:
mrshoho · 28/04/2022 19:25

Thank you I'm glad I'm not the only one! There's been some v weird glitches today @jeffgoldblum .

This is the full MN message I see:

Hi all, this thread is full of speculation presented without evidence - we're not sure it's in the spirit of the site so we've taken it down for now.

The 'not sure' part gives me some comfort 😁

ResisterRex · 28/04/2022 19:31

I just get "thread deleted".

I'd have thought information about someone's views on children "having sex with" (ie being raped by) adults - a view which has never been retracted - is relevant information when thinking "wow should I invite them in to talk to children?"

I'd also have thought that saying a viewing of "the family sex show" must be kept a secret, was a warning sign and relevant information for parents.

Perhaps I'm terrible old-fashioned like that.

Yeah, there's been some shit stirring (great term!) probably for the screen grabs to 'prove' what a load of old cunts we all are.

Well - at least we are real cunts.

Cattenberg · 28/04/2022 20:49

There’s at least one trans activist who’s obsessed with MNet and who has an uncanny ability to screenshot controversial posts, even if they’re zapped moments after posting.

Believerinbiology · 28/04/2022 21:19

Does anybody now how to search for all posts by a user in the new format? Used to find this very useful particularly for identifying ploppers and stirrers.

jeffgoldblum · 30/04/2022 15:49

Another thread gone! This time the other pt thread.

OP posts:
Clymene · 30/04/2022 15:57

I think it's fairly clear that PT doesn't want to be discussed on here. Even if it's all publicly available information

jeffgoldblum · 30/04/2022 15:59

@Clymene probably not but if what he's said is fine why worry about the sunlight?

OP posts:
Clymene · 30/04/2022 16:06

I have an opinion on that as I'm sure you do but I'm not going to type it out as this thread will also get deleted

jeffgoldblum · 30/04/2022 16:10

@Clymene yes ! Good idea ( I tried to be vague!)

OP posts:
FatFucker · 30/04/2022 16:41

Reminds me so much of the strapping babies to rockets person, about she who can't be named!

All threads mentioning that person were zapped within seconds!

Although that was amusing, this is seriously sinister!!

jeffgoldblum · 30/04/2022 16:43

I am utterly disgusted by that deletion. There were many detailed factual posts of public interest. From the fact that several schools were mentioned as having booked him to come in and talk to their pupils, I assume there's some kind of publicity drive going on. Schools are clearly not doing any due diligence here (or they are, and don't recognise what they find as cause for concern, which would be even worse). Now there's one less place for them to find relevant information if they do search his name.

jeffgoldblum · 30/04/2022 16:47

Yes very worrying, I must say so many deleted for no real reason, those two seem to be the most galling, particularly as only two support post were a tad questionable!

You just use the ordinary search function now. It's been beefed up a lot. Will show usernames on the left hand side. Click on one of those to see posts.

Roseglen84 · 30/04/2022 17:21

Unfortunately, MN seems to bow to the whims of TRAs on this board.

I mean, the whole point of the Sex & Gender Discussions subsection was to keep it out of the 'real' Feminism board because people were giving out. So we were shunted into a dark smelly corner and it's still not good enough apparently.

It's a sad realisation that on a women's website, in the explicitly feminist section we cannot properly discuss an important issue about women's rights without extreme self censorship. Like if we misgender someone, or mention AGP etc.
Perhaps as a pp mentioned, MN has been infiltrated, who knows.

I seem to remember a few months ago Justine saying that because of the Maya judgment that they wouldn't be forced to censor as much (or am I misremembering that?). Anyway, it doesn't seem to have changed much.

Ovarit is a really good board, although probably doesn't have as many users as MN.

It would be nice to have a women's site that was actually pro women and not pro bullshit.

Some Mumsnet posters on these threads about safeguarding have a remarkable (and evidenced) store of information and are very enlightening as to the associated problems and possible consequences of ignoring safeguarding. I now try to make sure I copy and paste the posts showing published, recorded history, and the commentary by people who know their onions about safeguarding issues.

People who prioritise the safety and wellbeing of minors should always protest and never give a free pass to paeophiles (or those who appear to be softening the ground for them by 'just' saying that such abuse is not always unwanted, and the kiddies can be on for it. Indeed, I believe some characters have even said that the sexual abuse of minors by adults can give the kiddies joy.

Cailleach1 · 30/04/2022 17:52

Now, on some threads I have seen an ill advised comment (or two). I don't know if the intention of the poster was to push a comment beyond reasonable to unacceptably speculative and without foundation.

Certain characters don't need speculation on what they might have done. When you see what they have said and written, you have all you need to see you wouldn't them influencing your impressionable child.

ResisterRex · 30/04/2022 17:53

I do recall seeing one post which seemed to overstep the mark. The rest were just point out what's in the public domain and asking where the retraction is. Hard to see what's wrong with that when someone comes to engage.

Elsewhere there are other MN threads that I recall about very famous people in the RF which stayed. One definitely went into two threads, possibly more. And they were highly speculative. Perhaps those people have a very thick skin. Other threads about different RF members get zapped pretty quick.
