The Tribunal will start on 25th April at 10am. If you would like to view online you need to send a request for access as early as possible.

Send an email to

[email protected]

The subject heading of the email request should read

“MEDIA OR PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST – Case number 2202172/2020 - Ms A Bailey – 25th April 2022.

Then ask for the pin for the online access.

You will be contacted with instructions on how to observe the hearing.

I have sent a request but haven't had anything back yet. Hopefully nearer the time.

Gosh, what could possibly be hidden in those bundles that must be protected at all costs?

Does anyone remember an episode of The Good Wife (I think) where the lawyers were locked in freezing cubicles with three-legged chairs and not even a pencil and paper to take notes while they read the evidence?

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 03/05/2022 12:50

Who is AK (She/her). I thought the chat was for court administration only and not for random people to tell everyone else what to do.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/05/2022 12:51

I think they are connected to the case.

No idea and yes it is. Judge now telling everyone off for misusing the chat.

The downloadable docs is available to the press to ensure accurate reporting but they are not allowed to share those docs. We do not permit them to be attached to a report. Documents can be quoted in reports .

So, does this mean that they can still be referred to? Although not directly attached or republished.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 03/05/2022 12:52

AK is making a tit of themselves in the court chat. 🤨

Can they not conduct themselves with some decorum for once!?

nauticant · 03/05/2022 12:54

More screwing about with the timetable with extra applications, mini-hearings etc. It looks like witness Kate Barker needs to be heard today.

Adjournment now till 13.40. A private hearing then. Resume public hearing at 14.00.

chilling19 · 03/05/2022 12:54

Oh this is a mess.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 03/05/2022 12:55

Can you self-ID as a journalist? What's the criteria?

There are lots of women's groups who essentially do journalism - write blogs, updates about important issues for women's rights such as this court case.

What qualifications do you need and who is the gatekeeper for this?

Arguably some newspapers are captured by the ideology on one side and only write quite biased articles, so if it's restricted to newspaper journalists that could potentially benefit one side more than the other.

ickky · 03/05/2022 12:56

Public hearing to resume (hopefully with a witness) at 2pm.

I hope Mr Reuby understands that AHF isn't actually offensive.

It's just another transparent attempt at mud slinging by the other side.

Signalbox · 03/05/2022 12:57

Oh so the bundle finally opened in my browser and it stays available once I am kicked out of the session so it's not all bad.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/05/2022 12:58

It sounds from the discussion in the chat like AH thought one of Tribunal Tweets had been suspended from Twitter as she has protected her tweets Confused which was given as the reason for this research/bona fide/ accreditation issue.

There used to be such a thing as a 'press pass' and membership if the NUJ, something similar. Not sure if that quite works these days of citizen journalism etc

Cailleach1 · 03/05/2022 13:03

Shouldn't someone independently ascertain the credentials of those with access to the bundles? Not the respondents' representatives. I don't know if I'd be happy with that shower being the arbiter of anyone.

tabbycatstripy · 03/05/2022 13:08

I certainly wouldn't be happy with them having access to any of my personal information. Clear from the bundle that many of them are not just barristers, they're activists.

Pluvia · 03/05/2022 13:14

Which bit of the bundle were you reading, Tabby? I have 45 minutes over lunch and have just read the first few pages of the opening submission by AB/BC.

Pyjamagame · 03/05/2022 13:15

Daft question time - who is Martin Reuby in all this? I'm pretty clueless about how courts function.

Maybe just a member of the public?

He’s a member of the tribunal.

He's a lay member of the panel.

Donations are still coming into the crowdfunder, thankfully. I think the publicity - and publicity around Stonewall's delaying tactics - will encourage many people to keep digging.

The comments are lovely.

tabbycatstripy · 03/05/2022 13:17

I've pushed through about a tenth of it. There are reams of emails, examples of GC barristers arranging discussions and events for trans equality (shouldn't be an issue in and of itself but there is a real 'activist' feel to it), and I'm in the section around p.600 and something where people (including Gendered Intelligence and a load of what look like sock puppet members of the public) used the web portal to put in complaints about AB. It's hard to follow who everyone is.

Pyjamagame · 03/05/2022 13:18

JulesRimetStillGleaming thanks!

Datun · 03/05/2022 13:20

Death threats and nooses doesn't sound like the sort of thing gc feminists go in for.

Is this another example of the razor blades under the posters nonsense where transactivists plant threats against their own to try and implicate women?
