The Tribunal will start on 25th April at 10am. If you would like to view online you need to send a request for access as early as possible.

Send an email to

[email protected]

The subject heading of the email request should read

“MEDIA OR PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST – Case number 2202172/2020 - Ms A Bailey – 25th April 2022.

Then ask for the pin for the online access.

You will be contacted with instructions on how to observe the hearing.

I have sent a request but haven't had anything back yet. Hopefully nearer the time.

Given the batshittery that the tribunal spouted in the Webberley judgement, we can't assume judges won't buy the idea that more men support feminism than women do.

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:27

Dr Green is doing well here, making a very clear distinction between GC views and GC feminism.

nauticant · 29/04/2022 12:25

It's my impression that GCC counsel are arguing on the basis that "gender critical views" is a different thing to feminism and is more akin to "anti-trans".

Yes. I'd like to see a definition, so they can be disabused of that.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/04/2022 12:27

Yes and that is more or less what this barrister has argued in other cases.

From the link I posted about Maya's case:

“"This case is about the rights of workers, including trans workers, who will never be safe in the workplace again if this appeal is allowed,” argued Jane Russell for CGD."

nauticant · 29/04/2022 12:27

Ahh, great, Dr Green has drawn the distinction between "gender critical feminists" and people who hold gender critical views. Subtle but important.

GrinitchSpinach · 29/04/2022 12:28

They really are desperate to pretend that the feminist revival that sex denialism has sparked (mainly on the left) is in fact some kind of astroturfed facade controlled by right-wing men, aren't they?

A data point from my country (the home of the wealthy evangelical men who are supposed to be our puppeteers): when WDI USA sent copies of Kara Dansky's book to every member of Congress, their thank-you email to donors noted that 96% of donors to the effort were women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/04/2022 12:28

Agree she's doing well.

Datun · 29/04/2022 12:29

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:26

'I know they need to try and discredit the witnesses, but I think it's a pretty poor tactic trying to claim that feminism isn't largely supported by females!'

Gender critical feminism is a more specific thing than the movement that calls itself feminism, though. There is a wide movement that calls itself 'feminism', which includes a lamentable number of people who don't seem to agree that they are trying to say anything about females. :)

Yes, and given it's fundamental to all of this, I'm assuming that at some point it's all going to be comprehensively defined.

I hope so, anyway!

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:29

I hope she points out that the YouGov poll is a pile of wank where none of the terms ('transgender'/'self-identify'/rights') is defined.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/04/2022 12:32

And that the fluff about supporting people's self identity doesn't actually extend to sports, pre op males in women's spaces or removing medical gatekeeping.

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:32

Go, Dr Green, go Dr Green...

Datun · 29/04/2022 12:33

Crikey. Are they actually believing their own propaganda? This should be interesting.

IDK if 'pile of wank' is the correct legal term tbh

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/04/2022 12:33

Works for me!

Mollyollydolly · 29/04/2022 12:34

I'm surprised they've gone with the YouGov poll when every woman knows what Dr Green is now saying. Bit of a home goal.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 29/04/2022 12:35

I can't believe this complete crock of shit has even made it into a court room. What a depressing indictment of our times. Lewis Carroll must be rolling in his grave.

Rooting for Allison. The insidious, dangerous political institution this charity has now become needs gradually taking apart. The fact that so many of its former adherents are breaking ties with them in droves is very telling.

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:36

'IDK if 'pile of wank' is the correct legal term tbh'

I'd love to hear her say it, though.

nauticant · 29/04/2022 12:36

This misrepresentation of the YouGov survery as proving who are "gender critcal feminists" and who are not is driving me up the wall.

unwashedanddazed · 29/04/2022 12:36

"Please scroll down..." 😬

Datun · 29/04/2022 12:36

Christ, those questions, that poll. It's just like a regular afternoon on here.

Is that it? They've got nothing.

tabbycatstripy · 29/04/2022 12:36

waves back to Ann

Oh it absolutely is, it's quite a technical term but one I use frequently 😀

Happy to be corrected; obviously IANAL.

Squeezing in an off-topic, but if anyone is noticing an recent uptick in MRA rhetoric on recent feminist-themed threads outside FWR, I believe that if the Depp v. Heard trial threads were a shoe, that would be the surface on which such turds have been dragged in on.
New commenters abound. Arguing the need for Suffragettes there, 'n' all, so maybe on-topic after all 🙄

Yes: "As the gentleman on the upperdeck of the Clapham omnibus might say in the vernacular, m'lud, 'That bleedin' questionairre's a pile of wank'..." .
