Can I ask people to fill this in? Scotland is probably going to vote against the needs of women and girls. We will then need to raise money for the court battles.

Thank you OP for the link.

And no Catherina, 'the fuss' won't end. Because women actually give a shit about their and their children's safety. They give a shit about the groups of women excluded by self id. They give a shit about vulnerable women in prison. They give a shit about women in hospital wards. They give a shit about women's sports.

We know that those who are keen for self id and GRA reform to go through do not give a shit about these things.

But we do. So women won't wheesht. Ever.

DomesticatedZombie · 21/03/2022 20:32

I'm really curious what drives you to be so dismissive of women's rights, Catherina.

DomesticatedZombie · 21/03/2022 20:35

Are you happy with how your government are treating the rights of half its citizens?

HouseOfGoldandBones · 21/03/2022 20:36

@CatherinaJTV

Hmm

Nothing is going to change for cis people by passing the GRA reform. Life is going to get a bit easier for trans people. That's a good thing and that is all.

Well I won't be able to choose the sex of the nurse who gives me an intimate medical exam. In direct contravention of the Human Rights Act.
Squishmael · 21/03/2022 20:40

If posters come here to learn and discuss then I'm hugely prepared to give of my time and resources. But when posts are vexatious and provocative, less so.

Rainbowshit · 21/03/2022 20:51

I've filled it in. They are not going to like my contribution.

Neither are you Catherine. 😊

Circumferences · 21/03/2022 20:57

@CatherinaJTV

And ever was thus.... Lies are all they have because the truth can't be spoken....
Rainbowshit · 21/03/2022 20:57

Do people really think that women will ever shut up about this? If anything our voices are getting stronger and stronger as more become aware of the issues.

Cis is a slur. Stop using it.

They aren't going to like my response either.

Waitwhat23 · 21/03/2022 21:22

What a surprise that Catherina continues to use a slur which many posters have asked them not to use.

It's yet another example of MRA's* dismissal and discounting of women's voices. We are threatened by Police action if we misgender, even by accident, but are referred to by a term we find insulting, against our will, repeatedly and without censure.

*I'm no longer using the term TRA. Those fighting to erode women's rights aren't Trans Rights Activists. They are Men's Right Activists. Incels by any other name.

Whereareyourshoes · 21/03/2022 21:27

Thank you for sharing the link. Will complete even though I expect it will be ignored like the previous consultations. Changes will be pushed through by SNP/Greens and Lib Dems for their trans friends with not one care for the impact on vulnerable women or the gender non confirming kids harmed by this ideology. Reducing the age to 16? Lying to children that they can actually change their sex? This is going to have a devastating impact on many people so it is not going to be over and just go away.

334bu · 21/03/2022 21:28

Just continually repeating " womens rights are not touched by GRA reform" doesn't make it true. Male sex offenders now being able to share showers with female prisoners just underlines this lie.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/03/2022 21:29

women's rights are not touched by GRA reform

Being forced to pretend men are women, actively removes female legal protections because it removes our right to penis free spaces just because some men claim to have special lady feelings.

It also removes the right for us to name and advocate for ourselves as a sex class, separate to men.

Why should we have to pretend that someone's imagined 'gender' has any relevance to their sex? So you want to adopt sex role stereotypes of the opposite sex. It doesn't change your sex. Non conforming men are still men.
Dysphoric men are still men.

Why do men who claim to be women suddenly not have to be subject to the same rules and safeguarding policies as every other man?

Why the fuck should a man's fantasy of womanhood be given priority over the reality of every female?

We are now in a situation where the gatekeeping put in place to help the homosexual transexuals but keep out the AGP's has gone.

Women and girls are just collateral damage for entitled penis people.

tricervixtops · 21/03/2022 21:33

For Women Scotland have asked people to hold off filling in until they and MBM consider a strategy.

DomesticatedZombie · 21/03/2022 21:57

ta, tricervixtops.

Bring the fucking fuss.

Well I won't be able to choose the sex of the nurse who gives me an intimate medical exam. In direct contravention of the Human Rights Act.

That is just not a consequence of the GRA reform. You are all getting all riled up about things that have nothing to do with that bill.

getting all riled up Hmm

“Calm down dears! Don’t worry your little heads about this - the men have already sorted it out”.

Rubbish!

mudgetastic · 22/03/2022 06:50

Well strictly it's not a consequence of the reform
It's a consequence of the original act that will be made much worse by the reform

Whereareyourshoes · 22/03/2022 07:00

@tricervixtops

Thank you @tricervixtops, will wait for response from For Women Scotland and MBM before completing.
tricervixtops · 22/03/2022 07:37

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria a group of tricervixtops is a force to be reckoned with Grin

That is a brilliant article by Elaine Miller, I have been sharing as widely as I dare.

Will report back with updates. Consultation is open for eight weeks.

Rainbowshit · 22/03/2022 07:47

Of course it's going to impact on others. You're opening up a legal sex change to 16-18 year olds. School children. Who need no medical diagnosis and only 3 months of "proof" of living as the opposite sex. Cost also not a barrier. I mean we all know what teenage boys can be like. I can see it being a dare.

Schools are having a hard enough time at the moment keeping girls safety, privacy and dignity. At least they could say legally they hadn't changed sex. They will now be dealing with a cohort who have legally changed sex. It will likely have implications for girls in changing rooms, toilets and overnight accommodation on trips.

In fact if I was a teacher hell would freeze over before I got involved in any overnight trips because of this.

CatherinaJTV · 22/03/2022 07:48

@334bu

*That is just not a consequence of the GRA reform. You are all getting all riled up about things that have nothing to do with that bill*

Rubbish!

what a convincing argument. I have yet to see a step by step explanation how GRA reform will lead to a change for non-trans women or children, given that the rights of trans individuals are secured through the EA2010 and not touched upon at all by GRA. Most things that are touted as our dystopian future under a changed GRA fall under regulations that have nothing to do with self-ID or what birth certificate an individual has.

A hospital in which abuse happens is not a safe hospital, independently of the perpetrator's passport or birth certificate.

Participation in sports is regulated by the individual sporting associations, not by the GRA.

GRA reform changes nothing for the non-trans population. It makes lives a bit easier for trans individuals and that is a good thing.
