  • haven't had a chance to keep an eye on his tribunal, but from what I'm reading:

'Dr Michael Webberley applied for voluntary erasure from the GMC register. The Tribunal say it is "unfortunate" that was not determined prior to the hearing today.

MW had two requests for postponement declined & has now provided new medical evidence for an adjournment'

The more this goes on, the worse it becomes. The very adults who you would suppose have these children's interests at heart, the ones who are busying about online and in schools pushing their born in the wrong body narratives at children, are completely silent - no matter how extreme the negligence and abuse is revealed.

It's quite a revelation no it's not

Terfydactyl · 30/03/2022 16:18

I was just about to ask this. It is gross malpractice. Is there any criminal case following this court case

Ianal so no actual idea, but wouldnt a criminal case need victims? If all the children prescribed pbs and testosterone are happy with what they had, theres no victim.
I know they are victims but they dont know that yet and an unwilling person on the stand is worse than no person.

Shit sorry I'm tired and rambling.

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 16:19

So, what are we expecting in terms of reaction from all of the people who are so supportive? Dr Michael Webberley thrown to the wolves and 'lessons learned'? Or just a general deafening silence?

This expert witness is a class act. Forthright, honest, passionate. I shouldn’t be emotional but I am.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 30/03/2022 16:32

I can't wait to see Mermaids' and Jolyon's responses.
"We won...!"

I don't know either. With regard to victims, the scant evidence of PB and cross sex hormones is that they will go on to develop significant life limiting health problems. Heart attacks, osteopetrosis, medical menopause etc.
Imnotavetbut · 30/03/2022 16:46

There seems to be very little noise about this full stop at the moment. I fell down a small rabbit hole on a Twitter search for GenderGP and there's quite a few unhappy people with prescription problems etc. Also people recommending Gendercare because they're better 'at bullying GPs into signing shared care agreements'. Sorry, slight sidetrack there...

Imnotavetbut · 30/03/2022 16:49

RQ: MW was a brilliant organiser, he could have recruited the right people and then gap in the service could have been filled. I imagine he'd be able to run a tight ship with right ppl I place but the original set up wasn't his.

RQ: Which is why it's called Gender Gp and not Gender Gastroenterologist

I do like RQ!

Will the GMC have documents after the tribunal? Is the tribunal recorded or transcribed?

He’s pulling absolutely no punches.

There should be a report on the MPTS website once a judgement has been reached:

www.mpts-uk.org/

Great, thanks Change.

The other thing I'd like to see is the testimonials Mermaids and GIRES gave for - I think it was for Helen Webberley.

I read the whole threads today. Such a lack of care, that's what gets me. He didn't care whether the treatment was right.

OvaHere · 30/03/2022 18:57

This is horrific. Do we know if any journalists are following it?

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 19:26

I would really have hoped so, Ova. This is quite a large player in the field of trans medecine in the UK. It should be reported.

It's jaw-dropping reading, isn't it?

Massive thanks to the tweeters.

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 21:32

Yes, huge thanks, that was a mammoth effort.

I would love to send a little something to the tribunal tweeters. They have been sterling.

PronounssheRa · 30/03/2022 21:56

No wonder he wanted voluntary strike off, he didn't want this in the public domain.

There really should be a criminal investigation

InvisibleDragon · 30/03/2022 22:00

Wow, this may not have got the publicity of Maya Forstater and Ben Cooper, but this is definitely getting a lot of sunlight onto some extremely shady practices.

Dr RG is clearly absolutely horrified and not afraid to say so.

FannyCann · 30/03/2022 22:03

Thanks for all the posts and explanations OP and others. Just catching up and it's eye popping.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 30/03/2022 22:15

They need a cash app of some sort, don't they.

The Chair/Judge refused online access so they have to travel to attend and tweet and cover their own subsistence expenditure. The costs of this are substantial never mind all the donated time and expertise.

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 22:24

I wonder if maybe Sex Matters or similar org could support them? At least a wee bit?

It's always appalling to hear of professionals being so careless about their own profession, but somehow for a doctor it seems so much worse. Not just because you'd hope they always act in the best interest of their patients, but the years and years of training, studying, awful working conditions, and to be rewarded for that by finally getting to the hallowed position of consultant - what makes anyone then act so badly that they risk throwing all that away?
