That’s is zombie. Yet Robison and the msps clapping her in Scottish government seem to have not one clue on safeguarding

Shona Robison was subjected to what sounded like a horrible ordeal from a stalker. Another reason I am surprised she made such clueless and offensive comments. I suppose the stalker was making threats and maybe not 'pretending' anything, but in general I'm sure she is aware of the exceptional lengths abusive men will/can go to.

You don't even have to search as far as the US for pedo abusers in sport. There's George Gibney, national/Olympic swim coach in Ireland and Barry Bennell, Bob Higgins and George Ormond of Crewe, Chelsea and Newcastle football clubs. And that's the tip of the iceberg.

I suppose if you're splitting hairs you could say that they didn't 'have to' pretend to be anything else. But the fact remains that many predatory and abusive men do pretend to be all sorts of things to carry out their crimes.

And in the context of self-ID do you really think none of these men will pretend to be transwomen in order to gain easier access to victims?

She said there is no evidence that “predatory and abusive men have ever had to pretend to be anything else to carry out abusive and predatory behaviour”.

What is wrong about that? Men have not needed to pretend they were anything but men to get access to their victims. They'll find their victims in their families, their sports clubs, their work without ever falsely pretending they are women.

That doesn't mean that there aren't violent offenders who are or claim to be trans women. And to instigate a pile on by misinterpreting what she said is, well, so you.

no, I don't agree with the whole framing of the situation. Changing the GRA has no bearing on our safety. Trans women have been sharing our spaces legally for well over a decade. The proposed changes to the GRA will just make the admin of getting their documents changed a bit easier.
