I don’t think she is transphobic ejther. She is honest enough to say that trans medicine needs more evidence and that stonewall inclusion ideas need impact assessments. I think most physios agree but don’t speak up because CSP say TWAW and being disciplined looks Awful.

I highly doubt it'll be DB! I suspect considerable experience of running a large organisation will be necessary, which should rule him out.

There's been a lot of talk from CSP about trans stuff but they've not actually produced any policies or guidelines etc apart from that rather woolly statement from the council. They kept quiet over the Scotland GRA vote too, which makes me think maybe the CEO has got some common sense and doesn't actually believe TWAW.

But the danger is that after she retires, they could get someone in who is 😒

Has anyone had an email from governance asking or their definition of transphobia? I don’t but someone I work with did. He says it is for sharing I am hoping to get one too

The vice-chair of the LGBT diversity network is blatantly male despite going as she/her so I don't think it's looking good for GC physios. A fellow physio who's a member of the network told me about this consultation on the definition of transphobia late last week. I'll see if I can find out more from them tomorrow.

Vice chair isn't listed on the CSP website. It's not JH, surely?

Why do we need to make our own definition?

Would we have a different definition than a group of e.g. engineers or oncologists or lesbians?
If we do then who's definition is definitive?

This is all very depressing and I am amazed a union is allowing accusation of a member on her professional forum.

I hope some GC physios respond to the consultation on the definition of transphobia though. Otherwise the likes of JH will get their way and anyone not toeing a strict TWAW line will be shipped off to a gulag run by Owen Jones!

Ah Elaine's name has now been asterisked out but presumably that was by an admin as it was spelled out in full before.

I don't think the asterisks make a whit of difference. It's outrageous.
