Please sign into CSP and look at the new iCSP discussion "Stonewall and the CSP"

A great thread beginning and agreement that stonewall are problematic and women's rights are being overlapped by male rights

Then a HUGE ESSAY by a TRA

Is this what you mean about allyship from the CSP, @AppleTreeOwner?

I'm keen to understand and respond to this. We havea new chair of council, and I don't think he has made any statement on gender. He has pronouns and the jokes like him but I am hopeful.allyship page on csp site

AppleTreeOwner · 03/10/2022 16:37

Thank you. The CSP allyship link is very informative to say the least.
I asked local CSP steward for clarity ; they had attended a CSP webinar about allyship ( not specific to this issue, wider EQI but included many of the points in the link). They plan to do an outline of allyship in the ‘ general sense’. Not attended yet so unable to comment on the full content.
Presently not convinced that members would be supported when it comes to sex based rights, it looks like it has been ideologically captured in many areas. Let’s hope that the new chair of council is open and more politically aware of the wider issues.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 03/10/2022 21:10

I meant "woke" not "joke"! Though, sometimes a typo fits.

I don't understand allyship at all. It looks to me like "don't be a dick" fits for anyone with any difference or none. I can't understand why gender is all special. Or why sex is, as you say, not.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 10/10/2022 20:53

Can any of you see this? It won't let me CSP trans treatment access.

Calyx72 · 10/10/2022 22:33

The link to the resource doesn't work but if you search for it, the post itself appears to be from 2017 (the comment is from this month though)

Just come across this thread and wanted to say 'hi' as a GC physio proudly working in women's health. There are no 'birthing people' on my watch - much to the upset of my local networking group.

Calyx72 · 11/10/2022 17:53

Hi @tonybasil welcome and well done for keeping 'mother' instead of the 'birthing person' shenanigans, thank you! How has it been for you? Has it been discussed?

Glad to be here @Calyx72 I am amazed at how this nonsense has taken over the birth /women's health world. Women providing women-centred care who can't see how damaging this ideology is.
Personally, I just make a point on my social media, website and in person to continue to use gender-specific language. I am involved with a local birth workers networking group and unfortunately a few have succumbed, thinking it is progressive and inclusive to use words like pregnant people. I did challenge it and the response was disappointing. They are only following the lead of our local maternity services though who are also guilty of it.

The Carr report about bullying in nursing - seems to be centred around a man in the exec who teaches bindage. Is this diversity? Every guverning body needs a kink representive?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 12/10/2022 12:44

BDSM and men who work in health care can’t be that big a world. Bet Dave and Mr Fetish know each other. I don’t care about your kink, but I won’t want to know about it

stealtheatingtunnocks · 12/10/2022 12:46

Carr report

Calyx72 · 12/10/2022 20:25

CSP email today - I put my details in (they didn't actually ask about sexuality despite saying they would - I was going to say lesbian or bisexual to be in with a chance of being interviewed but I doubt I will be

I would definitely say I only value the insurance and I don't feel the CSP are willing to protect me as a gender critical female who is willing to make trans people comfortable if I am treating or working alongside them (by using their chosen name and pronouns in the professional setting) - but who believes that trans identified people have not literally changed sex. And that female single sex spaces need to remain for females only. I feel the CSP are captured by gender ideologues and I don't trust them to act for my benefit if I was to be accused of hatefulness for my legally protected gender critical beliefs

Thanks, Stealth, that's an excellent article (though at least one of the cited references is missing from the References list).

stealtheatingtunnocks · 14/10/2022 22:43

I wonder if this is on iCSP yet or if they will keep it for frontline? Jack chew filmed Elaine Miller’s show and the CSP won’t like it

Greycatwhitepaws · 14/10/2022 23:15

that is a surprise!

Has anyone seen Rob? He’s been very quiet. Maybe Karen has locked him in a cupboard?

Calyx72 · 15/10/2022 08:36

That's brilliant Smile

He's busy tweeting (does he ever do anything else?) but has moved on from trans issues to the increase in CSP membership fees. That should keep him occupied for a while.

The video is great. There are some interesting times ahead

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 16/10/2022 13:11

I will send Maya's guide to Frontline, they use e.g. "intersex" as a term. sex matters journalist guide

I saw in yesterday's newsletter that Darren B is giving a lecture at this year's AGM. Didn't he throw a strop a while ago and claim institutional transphobia etc? But he's speaking about long covid rather than that.
