I saw on Twitter that their head of press has sent Elaine a supportive tweet to say he's sorry to hear about the abuse she's received. But radio silence from the rest of them. Cowards.

If you knew nothing else about this story, that alone is an indictment of the CSP.

Elaine is a Fellow of the CSP, and advanced practitioner- she is working to increase the visibility and relevance in a vital area of practice.
Really, in truth, having listened to and learned from Elaine, pelvic floor physio should be as commonplace as going to a physio for tennis elbow, or runner's knee etc. etc.etc.
Surely, that is the job of the CSP- to promote best practice for the population?
(I say all of this in sympathy with physios btw).

It is meant to be the Clinical Advisory Network: Sex and Gender, a site for those doctors, nurses, psychologists and other clinicians and AHP in the UK and Ireland who I think are looking for a compassionate, evidence/reality based approach in response to the challenges posed by an affirmation-only model of gender medicine.

I can see people like Dr David Bell, Dr Az Hakeem and Stella O'Malley are involved as well as Elaine. Looks good!

He's barely literate! His Twitter isn't much better - when asked what the difference was between men and women, he replied with something like "I'm not a medical professional".

It seems we're still waiting on Rob to tell us what denying the identity of a trans person involves. No doubt he'll mention misgendering (though I think most of us would use a trans woman's preferred name and pronouns out of politeness) or saying trans women are male but surely that's just a fact?

I think they definitely mean calling trans women male but it is the truth

what happens to informer consent if we lie or collude in a patientS delusion? there is a case for it in eg Dementia but in dysphoria? Is ther evidence ever it is effective?

If trans people were delusional, then they wouldn't need to change sex, they would just be. Trans people are very aware of their own bodies and where they are at - for many of us it's a daily horror show that we have to deal with.

That’s not what the evidence shows. There are people who belive that they can actually change sex - because that is what stonewall and mermaids told them.

a belief they humans can change sex is a delusion. That’s not my job to fix fix, I’m s physio, I specialise in necks and backs and knees and I need to know what medication a patient is on and where jr they have a risk of osteoporosis from that medication so I don’t do harm

so it’s lovely that you share your anecdata here but the daily horror show does not sounds like your transition addressed it and that’s is not a physio issue. I’d refer you to my psych colleagues for support. In sorry you are dealing with that and I hope things get easier sooner

They've piped down a lot over "gender identity" lately. Perhaps all the comments on that ridiculous article have given them pause for thought?

I think it's because we have also piped down. If they had paused for thought then I don't think putting Mermaids on their site (given the current hoo-ha about them advising on puberty blockers and giving binders to children without parental knowledge or consent) would be a thought out action.

I really think they are trolling GC members and there isn't anything we can do about it

Have just seen the new chair & vice chair of council have been appointed, Ismael Beckford & Alex Spearitt. Don't know anything about them but RM tweeted that he is a kind leader.

He seems a decent sort from what I've seen of him, her I know nothing about. It will be interesting to see what happens with Jack takes up his council role too. I wonder if Mr Blue Hair is still on the equality and diversity committee? He continues to miss the point spectacularly. When was the last time you heard of a woman being attacked in a change room by a "predatory woman"?
