Why the ploppers plop and the sealions bark?

JellySaurus · 17/01/2022 13:13

When we ask questions relating to any aspect of trans ideology, ploppers and sealions accuse us of echo-chamber transphobia etc. we always invite them to answer our questions themselves, but they never do. We generally understand this to mean that this is because they cannot answer the question.

Maybe it's because they cannot ask it.

I was brought up in a tradition of asking questions. My dad always says that the most important word is "Why?" Yet in the wider world I regularly come up against shock that I should even query something, and I hear statements like "You cannot ask that!"

Maybe the first thing that TRAs, and all those immersed in the ideology, internalise and completely buy into is not TWAW, but No Debate. Maybe they cannot answer our questions because they cannot understand them. Because they do not understand that they are allowed to question.

Are we still countering No Debate?

Funny op I was thinking of starting a thread like this myself, I find is so tedious to see the same posters jumping onto threads on a board they clearly don't like to make comments that do not enhance the conversation in any way, and I always wonder why? They never come through with information or facts it's just insults. As a lurker for a while it was those posters that made me realize there was no "other side" further than "be kind"
So i oh suppose in a way while it's tedious to keep seeing I really think it does a great job of showing those/us in the background how weak their side is. So own goal for them really.

purpleboy · 17/01/2022 13:19

It also encourages the regulars to add all the evidence relating to that topic that most of us would otherwise miss, so again massive own goal on their part.

Interesting idea.

Bullshit.
They are answered, a lot.
It's just if you don't like the answer, you pretend it hasn't been answered and just dismiss and ask the question again on loop until it has been answered '' right. ''

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/01/2022 13:38

I've NEVER seen such a poster explain why buying into and accepting this ideology and therefore placing gender questions or trans individuals should trump safeguarding of children.

Ever.

Oooh great, now your hear perhaps you could answer some of the questions that other posters can't. It's not about not liking the answer, it's about them not making any logical sense. If I may with a couple of examples:

What makes you a woman?
A feeling apparently. (Makes no sense to me, I don't know what it feels like to be a woman do you)?

Why should intact TW be put in women's prisons?
They are unsafe in mens (fair enough but now women's are unsafe for women, seeing as TW offend at the same rate as men, rape, etc... Why does one groups safety matter more than another's)?

If you want to discuss just these 2 points that would be a great starting point.

Goatsaregreat · 17/01/2022 13:59

Male entitlement and a belief in male supremacy. They don't feel the need to answer any questions - women exist to be told what we are and what we are to say and do (with the same applying to children).

Bullshit.

They are never answered just flim-flammed away usually with the exact excuse you are using you won't like my answer which is code for I don't have one and certainly not an evidenced based one and anyway you are all meanies and just need to be kind.

A poster with a very similar posting style to you is a master at this, doggedly refusing to answer questions and making up every excuse under the sun not to do so.

Transactivism - a movement that fails to state what rights it's fighting for on the grounds that it may incriminate itself.

NitroNine · 17/01/2022 14:09

Perhaps some of it is to do with the [online] spaces they’re accustomed to [not] discussing this in: Twitter is essentially designed for bitchblopping; Insta comments ditto. Frequently the plop+block manoeuvre is used to actively prevent any response; or there may be minimal engagement THEN blocking. You do see longer threads, linked articles & people managing to condense ideas & arguments; but mostly the character limit is as much of a constraint on discourse as you would expect, thus the plop+run becomes automatic.

Is our reputation so fearsome that coming to post here is the online equivalent of peeping through the windows of the Spooky House where a witch Totally Definitely Absolutely lives? Scuttling of skinks. Hmm

I've asked a number of times what should be a relatively easy question to answer EeeICouldRipATissue, but no answer is forthcoming.

We separate some services and facilities and activities (sports) based on sex, not gender identity. What is the argument for allowing a subset of males access to services and facilities reserved for females while denying access to all other males?

The safety argument in the case of facilities such as changing rooms does not hold any water because third spaces have been rejected. It seems that this subset of males are hellbent on accessing spaces, services and activities reserved for females.

😂 You'll be waiting a while forever So many of these posters all have the same posting style and arguments. It's almost like they are all friends, or go to the same school, or live in the same house, or maybe even inhabit the same body

Plasmodesmata · 17/01/2022 14:24

Who plops and goes on a thread specifically about plop-and-going to deny the plop?

Someone who doesn't actually read other people's posts before reacting, I think.

I noticed that one plasmodesmata. We`ll probably all have to join Arabella with camp chairs on her long vigil waiting for answers because answers came there none.

WandaWomblesaurus73 · 17/01/2022 14:43

Could any of the Bitchploppers explain what JK Rowling has said that is actually transphobic?

Can they give an answer to wether they think male sexual predators who identify as women should be allowed to share a cell with a woman?

Do any of the Ploppers think it's fine for a middle aged male-bodied person to share a changing room with my young teenage daughter?

Can someone please explain what it means to "live as a woman?"

Can someone please explain what gender identity is?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/01/2022 14:46

All of that plus

It is ok for an adult male to compete in womens sports when all the evidence shows that biological makes retain huge physical advantages over women even if their testosterone level is reduced?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/01/2022 14:46

Males not makes

SerendipityJane · 17/01/2022 14:49

It's not unique to these debates though. So it's a more widespread phenomenon, surely.

Apollo441 · 17/01/2022 14:50

This is an echo chamber in as much as our questions echo around and never get answered.
