Why the ploppers plop and the sealions bark?

When we ask questions relating to any aspect of trans ideology, ploppers and sealions accuse us of echo-chamber transphobia etc. we always invite them to answer our questions themselves, but they never do. We generally understand this to mean that this is because they cannot answer the question.

Maybe it's because they cannot ask it.

I was brought up in a tradition of asking questions. My dad always says that the most important word is "Why?" Yet in the wider world I regularly come up against shock that I should even query something, and I hear statements like "You cannot ask that!"

Maybe the first thing that TRAs, and all those immersed in the ideology, internalise and completely buy into is not TWAW, but No Debate. Maybe they cannot answer our questions because they cannot understand them. Because they do not understand that they are allowed to question.

My definition of a woman is what society would generally see as a woman.

This is yet another circular definition, alongside “a woman is a person who identifies as a woman” and “a woman is a person who labels themselves as a woman by using feminine pronouns”. It’s interesting to see that this new circular definition comes with an explanatory paragraph that is deeply misogynistic.

Women: the type of human beings who are targeted for verbal intimidation when they use public spaces.

So Tom thinks that I will cease to exist if we eliminate street harassment, does he? This idea carries with it the implication that street harassment and misogynistic subjugation is a favour to women because otherwise we wouldn't be able to distinguish ourselves as a class from men.

We got an answer over the past few days on GBTV on what a woman was. As defined by this trans activist.

I have not seen many other trans activists call this steaming pile out, so they must all agree. Although, if anyone can post links to trans activists calling out this definition, I would be happy to retract.

I think herein we have a kind of ducking stool test for a true woman....if it wants to be cat called, it is not a woman.

And do you understand why we ask the questions 'on loop'? It's because your answers are loops. Defining a woman as anyone who defines themselves as a women is a 'loop' answer. Ie it does not answer our question.

So for you, answering questions on loop is acceptable to you, but us asking them on loop is not acceptable to you.

Clearly you do not understand how questions work.

I don't think so, as long as there are mothers children will always know what a woman is. Of course, they might not get taught the word, but they'll know the concept and the difference, and a new word will arise. Rinse and repeat then I suppose??? An effort to, anyway

Eel - if I'm not mistaken - has been on here for years. They have claimed a few times that they are leaving FWR, because it is awful and an echo chamber and people are mean, but they are always - always - back, mainly to post about how awful FWR is and how it's an echo chamber and 'lol wut' or 'whatever' in lieu of answering a direct question.

Eel has refused to say whether they think same-sex attraction is valid and ok.
They say they have a womanly feeling that they'd have whatever sex they were and believes we all have something similar but refused to engage or even attempt to describe what this 'feeling' is and why it should take priority over physical sex.

Eel gets very muddled when pressed and tries to redirect the conversation into how awful FWR is etc.
I believe Eel has been asked several times over the years 'what is a woman' and won't or can't answer coherently.

This is not meant to be a character assassination or anything but an observation of how one person can keep coming in to a place they decry as awful and try to derail conversation.

Having observed this for multiple years I think the only conclusion that can be drawn is that they are not posting in good faith and not interested in debating the issues. To me the thing that stands out is they have no interest in even asking themselves why they can't answer any of these questions. You can't be that sure of your own position if you can't question it yourself.
