Which is 'mistakes were made'

Rape is a mistake now and women are just fodder

He's a dickhead.

Scraggythang · 17/01/2022 09:09

Tom Harwood still out there assuming no one else knows what they’re talking about.

WE need to understand the issues!?!? Riiiiight.

JoodyBlue · 17/01/2022 09:14

The only morally responsible solution here are third spaces in prison. It can't be impossible to do that given the numbers of trans indivdiuals are small, as we are so often told. The number of convicted trans people must be also be small. It cannot be that there is an argument for validation when society is discussing rehabilitation and atonement for criminal behaviour. Tom Harwood showing again and again that he doesn't understand the issues for women.

SimpleHoardOfTruth · 17/01/2022 09:32

What was the change in the process in 2019 that he kept mentioning? And is it true there have been no problems since then - or is it the usual case of actually there is no official data?

WarriorN · 17/01/2022 09:35

Fabulous ratio. Has anyone agreed with him?

Starting to think he's a plant mind you.

SimpleHoardOfTruth · 17/01/2022 09:36

btw the point of my second Q above is because it stinks of BS and I'm interested in having some evidence to skewer his assertion, rather than assuming all is ok if there is no data.

WarriorN · 17/01/2022 09:37

He has raised an issue re the fact that some trans men are extremely well passing and this could be traumatic for women who have severe ptsd due to male violence.

At the same time, they're definitely not, therefore, destined for the male estate ffs!

RepentMotherfucker · 17/01/2022 09:38

Tom is saying it would be ludicrous for transmen to be in female prisons.

Oh Tommy Tommy Tommy. Where do you fucking think transmen and their female bodies are put you total arse?

WarriorN · 17/01/2022 09:39

2019 thing is news to me. Not sure what changed at all. The gov guidance doesn't show any effective safeguarding.

Still tish has posted on the thread evidence that a sex offence doesn't omit trans identified males from women's prisons. (Jess Philips I'm in document, so she knows too ffs.)

WarriorN · 17/01/2022 09:40

(Btw way repent, I just watched the State Media Cult film and the Repent mother fucker clip made me chuckle and did remind me of you!)

Tom also claims not to know what a biological man is.

I'm still trying to work Tom out, not sure if he is trolling, about 10 years behind everyone else in understanding this issue or so drenched in gender ideology that he is happy to make a fool of himself on TV.

WarriorN · 17/01/2022 09:58

He's trying to use the intersex argument; in a way I wish he'd been allowed to explain that one so that everyone could point out how shit that is.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 17/01/2022 10:30

If misogyny were the hate crime it should be, would he be arrested?
It's not OK to have men who identify as their version of a woman put at risk but it's OK to have women put at risk?
Gay men in prison are also at risk. Sort out male violence FFS. Don't use women as collateral damage. Truly despicable.

RepentMotherfucker · 17/01/2022 10:42

I like Paul Embery. He can stay.

Tom's a useful idiot for someone. Not sure who. Think it might be his employers using him as a kind of personification of an essay entitled 'this is where the lefties will get us if we don't nip it in the bud now.'

OvaHere · 17/01/2022 10:44

I can't help but notice in this clip how polite Tom is to Paul. No gasping, tutting or head shaking. No calling him rude or acting like he committed the worlds worst crime for talking about men being men.

Rather different from how he treated Posie. I wonder why that is?

nauticant · 17/01/2022 10:48

What was the change in the process in 2019 that he kept mentioning?

The Karen White scandal broke in late 2018. Apparently that was caused by the prison system not following its own safeguarding procedures and thus this case can be dismissed as being irrelevant because it was caused by a set of circumstances particular to a time and a place. Since that time the MoJ have made some vague comments about having tightened up procedures. Therefore, this means that from 2019 onwards the problem was made to go away.

Referring to 2019 as Harwood does is a way of saying "it would be wrong to look at what happened prior to 2019". It's an attempt to quarantine Karen White into "box of forgetting".

This is the level of analytical sophistication we're getting from trans activists.

yourhairiswinterfire · 17/01/2022 11:03

And is it true there have been no problems since then - or is it the usual case of actually there is no official data?

I believe if there are any sexual assaults by those with a GRC, their crime will be hidden as a 'woman on woman' assault. That's if the MoJ bother to record or report it. According to 'Amy', a former prisoner sexually assaulted by a TW in prison, they didn't.

Yet the prison did not report the assaults by J on either woman to the police.

'The staff turned a blind eye to this behaviour. They protected themselves and didn't speak out as they were worried that they would get into trouble because of the trans policy in prison; a policy which doesn't consider the impact on women prisoners,' says Amy.

Keep Prisons Single Sex also tweeted: To be clear: KW is no longer housed in the female estate under the current policies. But we are in contact with women in prison and former offenders who report similar incidents involving similar prisoners that have taken place under the current policy.

TW prisoners are prioritised. Women prisoners have to shut up and play along, some are being threatened with punishment (extended sentences) for things like ''misgendering'', which could make them feel unable to report anything. Staff 'turning a blind eye'. The MoJ will be desperate to prove there's 'no problems' with housing males with women...

Whole thing stinks. I don't believe for one second that there have been no incidents since 2019.

Interesting point. And I guess one more reason they know they can't allow misogyny to be a hate crime, at least not until gender ID has officially replaced sex.
RepentMotherfucker · 17/01/2022 11:07

I do think that's such a wanky argument.

We said, 'this will happen.'

They said, 'OMG you fucking outrageous transohobes that could never happen. You are bigots bigots bigots for even thinking it. I cannot listen to this anymore, it offends my ears.'

We said, 'look it has happened.'

They said, 'yes. But it shouldn't have and our clever policies mean it can never happen again.'

We said, 'hmmmmmm. Maybe this really clear safeguarding measure of not putting men in women's prisons worked best? Like we said.'

They said, 'OMG you fucking outrageous transohobes it could never happen now. You are bigots bigots bigots for even thinking it. I cannot listen to this anymore, it offends my ears.'

Scraggythang · 17/01/2022 11:11

@RepentMotherfucker yes. Just like that! See also women’s sports.

RepentMotherfucker · 17/01/2022 11:17

I mean. We were right. We have been proved right. You can't move the goalposts now.

We were right

It's basically this in the form of policy

That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, it is not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did, You deserved it

allmywhat · 17/01/2022 11:45

I wish someone would make the advocates for males in women’s prisons explain in detail why a third space is inappropriate. All the sobbing about the poor TW who’d be vulnerable in men’s prisons but they never explain why a TW wing is the wrong solution. Access to women is not a human right.

OhHolyJesus · 17/01/2022 11:54

I watched the segment on trans prisoners in female only prisons. He doesn't staunchly support self ID. He thinks a man or a woman is decided on how you present yourself, ie what he sees determines whether he thinks you're female or male. So it's stereotypes isn't it?

He is very entertaining.

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2022 12:00

His tie is definitely too tight.
