I think we've all noticed the repeating pattern with the morons who line up to take an uninformed pop at JKR. None of them exactly Mensa material, are they? In any battle of wits with her they would not just underpowered but, I strongly suspect, out of ammo entirely. Not so much bringing a knife to a gunfight, more of a toothpick..

It's laughable that he cannot see the irony of him as a white rich heterosexual man who benefits from nepotism telling a woman to shut up. A woman who made her own fortune and is a survivor of domestic abuse.

I think the word 'privilege' is often over and incorrectly used, but that whole rant is an excellent example of male privilege.

He is the brother of James Gunn - whose tweets got him sacked from directing Marvel films until he was brought back.

He is in a lot of his brothers films - particularly Guardians of the Galaxy. If you think these are bad his brothers tweets were awful.

It's good that he recognises her intelligence. It's a shame that he appears to have so little himself.

Ridiculous to be moaning about her being rich because that is a moan about her disproportionate access to a platform from which to be heard - a criticism which applies to all men. If he wants a more level playing field he need to.....STFU.

I hadn't heard of him either, but I do think this is a sign of how unafraid men are becoming of displaying their misogyny. A few years ago if you were a progressive-minded man, you'd be as wary of making misogynistic comments as you were of making racist ones. Now they don't care. The story in the Times today about the rise in incel sites is of a piece with this. It's not dissimilar to the way in which antisemitism is apparently becoming acceptable in progressive circles.
