Amazing!!

Well done maya!!

Are we any closer to clearing her name after the horrible lies told about her in the Guardian, namely that Robin Moira White opinion piece? A pal of mine read that and in the belief that maya actually had refused to use the correct pronouns for a work colleague, unfriended me because I supported her.

So I am particularly cross about that.....

Hoardasurass · 19/12/2021 11:42

That woman is amazing, she just keeps going when most would give up in the face of such institutional harassment and bullying

VestofAbsurdity · 19/12/2021 11:45

Excellent.

So Mr Murray alleged that Maya spread lies and misinformation about Mr Murray and that has been found to be without foundation.

The last paragraph of the letter from the Scouts is very telling, stating that their complaints process will operate without fear or favour in relation to all the protected characteristics in the Equality Act. I do hope they know what the correct protected characteristics are and that Gender and Gender Identity are not.

Maya really is turning the tanker round on all this with her persistence and dogged determination. Well done Maya.

DialSquare · 19/12/2021 11:50

She is ro brave. Constantly putting herself through the stress because she believes it's the right thing to do. I can not express how much I admire her.

WomanStillNotAFeeling · 19/12/2021 12:25

Well done Maya, every victory means it is just that bit harder for organisations to ignore safeguarding concerns.

The scouts should know better they have had enough scandals but they still close ranks to protect males Angry

KittenKong · 19/12/2021 12:26

Do the boys scouts allow females?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 19/12/2021 12:40

Well that's another bit of good news. So pleased to see another one of these vexatious complainers being shown the door (even if it did take a shameful two years) .

Nevertheless she persisted. Flowers

RepentBirthingPersonFucker · 19/12/2021 12:45

It's not much of an apology. They could, and should, do better

Datun · 19/12/2021 12:45

That woman is phenomenal.

Dogged, determined, undeterred.

She's the living embodiment of Women Won't Wheesht.

Christ. Two years investigation into her for calling a male he, when Murray called women every name under the sun including utter cunts.

This is happening. Women are being investigated for two fucking years for calling an adult human male, he.

334bu · 19/12/2021 12:46

Brava!

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 19/12/2021 12:53

Yes, girls can be a scout now.

I agree Maya is incredible. She will go down in the history books as a modern-day suffragette.

Clymene · 19/12/2021 12:54

Well done Maya and thank you. Courage calls to courage.

Their letter called Murray a liar without actually using the word liar.

Interesting how they have admitted to fearing and favouring one - no doubt a wrong - protected characteristic over all the others. Proof positive if ever it were needed that there is, or was until now, a sacred caste.

DaftVader42 · 19/12/2021 13:05

Just adding my thanks to Maya for taking this on , must be so stressful

lanadelgrey · 19/12/2021 13:10

She could be voted for in the Guardian’s person of the year, perhaps Smile

Igmum · 19/12/2021 13:20

And about time too. Ridiculous that this gained such credence and that this took two years. Well done Maya

elbea · 19/12/2021 13:23

@KittenKong They have done for years, I was in the Boy Scouts in the 90s. I joined brownies for a while but they were doing lessons in things like how to crack eggs and polish tea spoons so left for the scouts.

notaclownfish · 19/12/2021 13:35

Well done Maya! Thank.you for continuing to fight.

OnAWinterMorningFarAway · 19/12/2021 13:39

Well done to @MayaForstater. My admiration for her grows and grows.

She has determinedly built the foundations on which other women can build their own cases, notably when it comes to refuting vexatious allegations or complaints in the workplace, as well as giving a template for raising safeguarding concerns within organisations.

She has done more for children and women in two years than all of the trade unions - including education/teaching unions - put togther.

Mollyollydolly · 19/12/2021 13:42

I admire Maya so much she'll go down in history.

nauticant · 19/12/2021 13:52

Now tell me that this combination of wild eyes and glasses doesn't bring to mind a certain doctor.

ArabellaScott · 19/12/2021 13:53

Wow, well done, Maya. Brave, persistent woman.

ArabellaScott · 19/12/2021 13:54

And ... they's resigned:

Rightsraptor · 19/12/2021 13:56

The Scout Association didn't even consider the evidence Maya provided at the time.

How enthralled were they to this ideology?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 19/12/2021 14:04

Ah they has taken to their fainting couch! Deary me how do they cope with reality
