I hope you are getting great support from those around you as this must all take such a toll on you. As you’ve said, the process is the punishment.
And next to you, a human being of such integrity and courage, what a sorry spectacle Murray makes. That was a classic “but I’m the victim here” DARVO on Murray’s twitter.
It’s incredible that the Scouts felt no need to investigate this individual’s online behaviour when it was first brought to their attention - how is it that such rank misogyny went completely unchallenged? How is it there was no complaint against this Scout Leader for using language to and about women that cannot possibly tally with the Scouting ethos or social media guidelines? This person should not now be in a position to resign because this person should have been held to account long ago.
Perhaps the Scouts are now waking up and will take their duty to act without fear or favour vis a vis all the protected characteristics, including sex, sexual orientation and belief, more seriously from now on, as they have said they will do. I certainly hope so.
