I thought the point of therapy was to help relieve trauma not bloody create a deserving and undeserving patient where the latter gets sent packing if they don’t conform.

Slight tangent, but one of the church run quasi-professional counselling services I went to as part of so called 'conversion therapy' started by getting me run through an extensive personal history and repent of anything they identified as 'sinful' to enable me to really 'get the most healing' from the service.

This feels very like that.

Yes it is. This is very concerning. We all need to take action over this.

I have no idea how you can look at yourself in the mirror. To support this message that raped women are bigoted for being frightened of men, that it is bigoted to request that males are not included in places where they seek help to recover from the violence they have suffered at the hands of men. I have no idea why you think this is ok.

This is so disgusting, honestly. What it means is that there is no rape crisis support for women in Edinburgh. A service has been taken over by this sociopathic ideologue and rape victims will not be safe to seek help there any longer.

With uncanny timing Rape Crisis Scotland appear to have gone on a DARVO counter attack against GC feminists because people said nasty things to them on Twitter. Not seeing any death threats or rape threats though. Just anger.

How the fuck MW got the role and how the fuck the women around them enabled MW to do so I will never know.

I feel like working in this area for some is simply a badge of honour for their CV. And narcissistic power play for others.

This says it all

I volunteer at a homeless outreach. Some of our service users are high, some are violent, some hate women. And yet we don't "educate". That's not the brief. We give food, clothes, and practical help. We've had to temporarily exclude people from the premises due to behaviour that endangered us and other service users but it was always temporary. Welcome back as soon as they are no longer a danger.

I am flabbergasted that this individual sees giving help to vulnerable people at the most vulnerable time of their lives as nothing more than an opportunity to preach and convert, on pain of denying service. That is despicable. I don't approve of drugs (strong opinion there) but would never lecture a service user on their drug use. First, they have other priorities. Second, my opinions are irrelevant! It's not about me! Third, in what universe do you deny service to someone in need based on their beliefs.

That sums it up exactly for me. Such superficial posturing and mutual admiration. None of them have thought for one minute about the matter in any depth. They have never thought through the implications. Iknow some women who have worked in this field for years and their compassion for women and their depth of knowledge puts this lot to shame.
