If any LSE alumni on here feel like penning a complaint... How can this be acceptable in an academic paper?

"“If TERFs think trans* is an endemic threat to feminism, let us be the threat to feminism…

Picture this: I hold a knife to your throat and spit my transness into your ear. Does that turn you on? Are you scared? I sure fucking hope so.”

Matt Thompson, LSE GENDER STUDIES MSc STUDENT"

I'm pretty speechless.

The author identifies as “genderfuck”

I couldn't work out whether Matt is a male or female "genderfuck"

If anyone has tech ability, please archive the soundcloud file?

And could a linkedin member please archive the profile.

Happy to talk you through how to archive.

What sort of person thinks about this in their mind.

And other people think it’s a great piece to have written

As an academic piece 🤷‍♀️

theThreeofWeevils · 26/07/2021 17:01

What sort of person thinks about this in their mind

I think we all know what sort.

RedDogsBeg · 26/07/2021 17:04

Dangerous man, very dangerous man shouldn't be within a million miles of women or children.

What's that we keep hearing - both sides, most oppressed? NO, this man is advocating violence against women and revelling in it. He is doing exactly what totalitarian regimes are so fond of doing, labelling a certain set of people as the enemy, as worthless therefore violence against them is justified, this is NO different to the messages flooding the airwaves in Rwanda that labelled Tutsi's as cockroaches and look where that led.

Soontobe60 · 26/07/2021 17:04

What an absolute load of navel gazing drivel. He sounds like a petulant child who’s parents have spoiled him, and his thanks to them is to spew forth his hatred for women.
They must be so so proud.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/07/2021 17:07

What’s with all the deletions? Anyone understand why certain posts are being pulled?

MindYourLanguage · 26/07/2021 17:11

Apart from it being drivel, it shows no academic ability in terms of what I would expect to see at that level. If that is what LSE is now rewarding, I will be advising students to steer clear and be using this as an example.

OneEpisode · 26/07/2021 17:12

No idea why there were deletions. I was so astonished at the posh voice talking violent nonsense in that setting j did a misgender crime and I’ve not been sanctioned…

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 26/07/2021 17:13

Seriously?? What part of that was wrong MN, the part calling it sick? The part saying the LSE is giving this vile depravity a platform instead of calling the police and booting him out??

The part asking what on earth it's going to take to stop it, instead of cowing down such clear woman hate and that it just seems untouchable?

Okay I may have used several expletives but that's not usually a problem here!!

Was it the anger emojis, maybe I wasn't allowed to be angry at it, what with being a woman. I have to be kind Grin

It's worth a read.

nauticant · 26/07/2021 17:18

Ha, I see MN are deleting archives of webpages.

yourhairiswinterfire · 26/07/2021 17:20

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

The first deletion was a link to this persons Linkedin page, and i think the following deletions had quoted it.

I read MummaBras now deleted post and don't understand what was wrong with that though Confused

PronounssheRa · 26/07/2021 17:20

@nauticant

Ha, I see MN are deleting archives of webpages.
Are they deleting posts which lead to the name of the author?

If so, what the fuck, protecting someone like this.

Helleofabore · 26/07/2021 17:21

ahhh... did someone successfully archive the soundcloud clip?

nauticant · 26/07/2021 17:40

They don't want posters here to have ready access to the person's linkedin page, among other stuff I assume, PronounssheRa.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/07/2021 17:46

The thing with academia though, your published research is in your own name and it’s not hard to find you.
He knew what he was doing was public. This isn’t like someone saying something in a private Facebook group or under a pseudonym and then it gets leaked. If he wants to be an academic his work will be associated with his own name. It’s not this thread making that association.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/07/2021 17:55

Yes indeed. This is the official LSE Gender Studies blog tweeting out link to this tosh and copying hte student in the tweet. twitter.com/LSEengenderings/status/1398209022197747713?s=20

Redapplewreath · 26/07/2021 17:55

Surely if you put something like this in the public domain, you're happy to stand behind it and for it to be widely shared and discussed? Isn't that the point of it? Confused

RedDogsBeg · 26/07/2021 17:58

The silence from LSE is deafening.

RedDogsBeg · 26/07/2021 17:59

One would have thought so.

Not sure why public funded institutions supposed to be turning out the cutting edge minds of tomorrow equal something that seems not to be wanted to be seen or heard. By those paying taxes for the creation of it.
