So one of my friendships took a real beating over GC this week. I think it’s probably a GC rite of passage. I’m still a bit sad though. Meatballs and chocolate fingers could help, I expect.

I also have a couple of those buffet servers - mine handily spin around. I believe they are called Lazy Susan's (I'll now have to find out who Susan was and why she was so lazy).

Sorry about your friend, turned. I hear you. I have a friendship of decades that’s creaking at the seams over this topic. It’s tough. I find it particularly difficult because my uberwoke friend is distancing herself from me because I’m “a bigot”- when I’m the one who is perfectly happy to stay friends despite our difference of opinion. Bigot used to mean “intolerant of others views”, but apparently it doesn’t any more

Anyway, it’s Monday morning and the Bluestocking is serving coffee and viennoiserie - croissants, pain au raisins or pain au chocolat- we also have German breakfast cake or maybe just a biscotti to dip?

And I'm slaving in the kitchen making a fry-up.

Sympathies, turned .The only person I talk to about this stuff irl is dh, who gets it (after a brief initial 'what's the problem?' phase). I have one loudly GC FB friend. And nobody else I know has ever mentioned it. Except my woke dc,with whom I'm treading carefully. I'm a teacher though, and it could come up at work, but hasn't yet for me really.

I'm lucky really, I have two great GC friends, another who is headed that way, and a dh who got it after woke sorry, diversity & inclusion training at work. I'm not sure that was the outcome they wanted but I'm grateful anyway. dd is secondary school age so I try to give her a mix of perspectives.

We have oceans of biscotti (I never make fewer than 200 in a batch). Almond, or hazelnut and orange are available.

Also, an interesting gingerbread.

They don't take much watering. But they do fart like troopers, and are quite bad tempered.
