I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

Lazy was it your DD who told you you're NB? I remembered that because I was 😲

I think I'll get some salted peanuts to go with this wine, or do we have olives? I fancy some olives.

No, that wasn't me. It's pretty clear she considers herself NB though, going by stuff I've seen on her Instagram. She has never said that to us or requested that we call her anything different though.

I'd like some cheese and onion crisps with my white wine, I think.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 25/06/2021 17:57

Pops in for a quick glass Wine. Offers sympathy to those with teenagers in the grip of all this nonsense - and ponders on me sounding like my parents used to back in the day Confused Grin

Oooo nice to see The Bluestocking open once again, thanks Errol

As it's summer I'll forgo my usual Dark & Stormy for a big jug of Pimms with strawberries, sliced orange and cucumber, mint and plenty of ice. Anyone else who fancies some is welcome to join me in the swearing & grumping corner.

A toast to those who are no longer here, gone but not forgotten - Lang, I'm looking at you..still can't go down the supermarket cereal aisle without remembering......

Chin-Chin vipers!

I keep a range of tapas stuff in the house. I've got that lovely fried corn as well as the broad beans - olives with tiny cornichons and onions and slivers of torta.

If you can wait 30mins or so, I can grill up some chorizo and whip up a patatas bravas alongside some grilled peppers and courgettes plus some charred aubergine.

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 17:59

Thanks MrsO! It's very difficult to see your adult DD, (who has a Science degree!) drinking the Kool aid Confused

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:01

Cheers, Lovely Vipers! WineGin

SirSamuelVimes · 25/06/2021 18:02

Hello... I wander around on what bloody well was FWR quite often but I've never Bluestocking'd before. Will set myself up on a quiet table with a pint of lager and a packet of crisps for starters.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 25/06/2021 18:03

Sympathies SpringCrocus. This generation have been so badly served by adults pushing untruths as facts at them. My DD is older and after initial hostilities, now gets it.
Hands out more Wine to parents.

I am hoping mine are young enough that the fever will have passed by the time they are old enough to have this shoved down their throat

EmbarassingAdmisions posted this link on the Bunbury thread and thought, when it's quiet, some of youz would like a trip down memory lane

TheWeeDonkey · 25/06/2021 18:11

Just on my way over Embarrassing .

I do feel sorry for these kids who're getting sucked into all this. Mine isn't but I worry he seems to be going in the opposite direction, I do have to put him back in his box every so often.

I'm good with the wine thanks. Or perhaps a hot toddy. Although I've never been quite sure what a hot toddy is.

Stipagigantica · 25/06/2021 18:27

Peeks around door : long time lurker. so many fantastic women !

Can I come in? Mine’s a cool white Rioja at the moment. ….

(Eyeing up the olives enviously)

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 18:30

@JustcameoutGC

My current tipple of choice is a bison grass vodka, with fever tree tonic. It is lush.
Ooh, Bisongrass with apple juice. Yum.

Lovely to see some new faces among the vipers! Smile

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 18:32

I can make you the best toddy, lazy - whisky, lemon, honey, and lots of cardamom/cloves/cinnamon/ginger slices, with hot water.

lazylinguist · 25/06/2021 18:35

Most kind, Arabella. Easy on the water.

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:35

Here you go!

TurquoiseBaubles · 25/06/2021 18:39

Isn't this in the wrong topic?

WarOnWoman · 25/06/2021 18:41

Hello.

I've had a wonderful afternoon ever chatting with a friend about anything and everything. The best kind of conversation.

I don't drink so a non- alcoholic beverage for me please.

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:49
teawamutu · 25/06/2021 18:50

Gin please. All the gin.

So, this week:
KB case not looking great
Olympics are getting the issue out there
Jess de Wahls has ovaries of steel
As does Joanna Cherry
The Law Society is now recommending people follow the law

What'd I miss?
