OP posts:

Nonsense.

MarieDelaere · 30/03/2021 03:31

I've nearly finished watching it ... just pausing for a quick break.

NotBadConsidering · 30/03/2021 03:46

@Hibari

Nonsense.
Another stunning evidence-based contribution to the debate there Hibari, well done Hmm. I’m sure you watched all 71 minutes and can provide counterpoints to parts you find contentious?
MarieDelaere · 30/03/2021 03:52

Well that was very impressive from Maya Forstater. Articulate, considered, wide-ranging, detailed - and so very human.

I don't know anything about Benjamin A Boyce or his podcast channel but I'll have a look at that as well, as I can't sleep.

But Maya was the stand-out on that interview.

Her appeal is being held on the 27-28 April she says, and will be live tweeted.

I see another "anti SJW" youtuber and someone who didn't get her contract renewed because she wouldn't be professional and not bring her transphobic sentiments out at work, creating an unpleasant work environment for everyone around her.

I don't need to spent 71 minutes listening to a pair of grifters to know it's nonsense.

NotBadConsidering · 30/03/2021 04:51

I don't need to spent 71 minutes listening to a pair of grifters to know it's nonsense.

Of course you don’t. Because to do that might mean you stop telling lies about what happened and listen. And you can’t have anything that might challenge your fixed view, that just wouldn’t do! It’s just amazing that you can dismiss an hour long discussion as “nonsense” purely based on the title. How do you manage this in your daily interactions in real life?

Anyway, it’s a great discussion and well worth a watch, for others who aren’t so “no debate!” about life.

Maya Forstater in this interview explains in some detail exactly how that's not the case, although I understand that it's been a commonly repeated untruth on twitter.

Anyway it's in court in four weeks.

Maya comes across as very calm and measured.

Sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "La la la" won't make the truth go away you know....

I actually really welcome it when Hibari posts. It gives me a chance to carefully assess the other side of the debate. Especially when her insights are so valuable, like calling something 'nonsense' while admitting to not even watching it. Really helps educate me on why I'm such a bigot for believing that biological sex is real, immutable, binary and a significant driver of horrific oppression that needs recognising and not be over-written by gender.

LastRoloIsMine · 30/03/2021 05:43

Now thats a witty post Grin

It reminds me of the belief system that tried to divert people away from actually reading JKR's letter.

It's like some bewildering fear of reality.

Hi hibari.

I am not Obsessed. But this is a great place for information - links, evidence, podcast suggestions etc. I find that everyone here is knowledgeable, respectful - it's not just slinging insults until the other person shuts up!

Unfortunately, when the debate is calm, when all the facts come out, they only need to be examined and judged on their own merit. A lot of the current transgender agenda just does not stand up to scrutiny, I am afraid, although it's abhorrent and offensive to deny trans people their human rights and respect - no one is doing that, though.

It might be a bit frightening to confront the fact that what you have been advocating for so strongly is harmful - to women and transgender people - but then, solutions are just around the corner!

The fact that you think there's some kind of trans agenda...

You people need to get out of anti-trans spaces for a week or two and look at the real world.

Because you didnt?

LastRoloIsMine · 30/03/2021 07:07

The real world doesn't agree that humans can change sex or that men are women/women are men. I like the real world its not full of whiney narcs demanding validation or special treatment simply for existing.

I love that you think biology is anti trans 🤣

rabbitwoman · 30/03/2021 07:08

What do you think the real world is, Hibari?

I work in a school.

I have transgender family members and friends.

What part of real life am I missing out on?
