West Yorkshire, haven't they been discussed a few times on here before?

RedDogsBeg · 15/03/2021 20:18

I'm saying nothing

Me neither but it is very, very difficult not to.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 15/03/2021 23:03

I wish I found this surprising...

PurpleHoodie · 15/03/2021 23:11

en0la · 15/03/2021 23:27

Whatwouldscullydo · 15/03/2021 23:28
Hmm
Tibtom · 15/03/2021 23:35

WYP? Who'd have thunk it?

My Yorkshire grandpa used to say something along the lines of -
Where you find a wrongun you’ll find more

This is what was so galling to me about the police officer on being newsnight who said about what happened in London that every police officer in the country was shocked horrified etc.

It's not the first time and it won't be the last time that a police officer commits a sex offence.

I thought it was a ridiculous thing to say.

I didn't see that but it sounds bonkers.
NiceGerbil · 16/03/2021 01:45

I think she was trying to be reassuring- one bad apple etc.

MinnieJackson · 16/03/2021 02:58

I am literally so sick of this shit. How are we meant to trust?
Just tonight a man I didn't know harrassed me on Instagram. I always delete and don't reply, but this time I'm so, so angry. 'what do you want?' Surprise, his phone is broken and needs money, stolen profile picture. When I told him no he tried to call me!, Just leave me alone. Then you think,' we'll it's my fault for clicking on it!' I have screen shots btwConfused

FFS

It never rains, it pours.

peanutbutterjimjams · 16/03/2021 06:50

I suppose every day at work police officers see an avalanche of violence against women and girls being brushed under the carpet.

They know what they can get away with, so it escalates. Like with all dodgy men and boys.

We are not your toys. Assault and harassment is not a game. VAWG can't be 'out of character'. Leave us alone.

This is frighteningly, depressingly likely to be true.

HallowedGround · 16/03/2021 07:15

Why does his name seem familiar? Something in my brain has recognised him. Give me time, it'll come.
I am sadly not surprised. Its so prevalent.

TheQueef · 16/03/2021 07:17

What a surprise Hmm

I think an organisation where the rules don't apply and you get to abuse or persecute women would attract wrong uns.
But what do I know.

Agree
justanotherneighinparadise · 16/03/2021 07:40

I can imagine it’s true. Lots of young men, positions of power, surrounded by vulnerable people. It must be very intoxicating if they have abusive tendencies. We hear how often the police are entangled with prostitution and enmeshed with street informers. I bet the lines are very very blurred.

Kendodd · 16/03/2021 07:41

Chances of him being convicted... 3%?

CrunchyBiscs · 16/03/2021 07:42

123,000 police officers in England - but why show reason when you can accuse them all of women-hating and being abusive,

In 123,000 I suspect there will be pregnant officers, sex pervy officers, rich ones poor ones. But why let common sense get in the way of a screaming headline.

twelly · 16/03/2021 08:19

Any crime like this horrendous - I believe though that until proven guilty the charged person should remain anonymous.

TheQueef · 16/03/2021 08:19

Who's accusing all Crunchy?
My dealings have been with SYP and I wouldn't say All despite them achieving zero satisfaction to my complaints.

I don't doubt for a second that there are fantastic police officers across all forces.
I stand by saying there is a pernicious problem in SYP and WYP though. Generalising and shutting down conversation won't make it go away.
