twitch and 'womnx'

I'm so confused about all the circularity of this my mind is boggling.

I do not like the word Womnx. I like the word 'woman'.

Seems the trans community doesn't like it either and they have branded twitch transphobic.

I just saw this BBC article and it gave me the rage, what utter horseshit. Twitch are clearly on some ill thought out glittery rainbow-washing bandwagon. BBC however who should know better after the zillions of promptings, deliberately don’t distinguish between ‘women’ (twaw inclusive usage given at top of article) and ‘women’ (biological sex usage given at the bottom of the article)
Stop gaslighting us!!
The word ‘woman’ is already taken.

MaudtheInvincible

That kind of phallocentric thinking underlies a lot of this nonsense. To them, woman = someone they find sexually attractive.

That's why they keep bringing up black and disabled women. They can't conceive any reason except "transphobia" why we should count these people they find unshaggable as women, but not the people they do want to shag. "If she can be a woman, why can't X?"

A lot of tweets you can just hear the slurs they want to say bubbling under the surface.

MaudTheInvincible · 02/03/2021 21:43

Yes exactly Potholes. After all, women are only for decoration and service provision. Gynophobic tossers.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/03/2021 21:50

The amount of TRAs claiming that gender critical feminists invented 'womxn' to exclude trans people is startling.

They do like a nice cup of DARVO.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/03/2021 21:52

Ha ha, I saw this earlier and thought 'wokemate'!

Grin Love that term!

StanfordPines · 02/03/2021 22:37

@wheresmycrown

Wtf is twitch??
It’s where kids go to watch other kids play video games. It’s also used as a platform to live stream, so comedy events and the like.

Ask a passing 14 year old.

HashtagLurky · 02/03/2021 22:49

I hope this version has been archived, because the Wiki editors have already been at the page and rewritten it.

Yes, it's been archived

Hold on a bloody minute.

Everyone was told that the word women was terrible as it only included white women (news to me...)

Womxn should be used as it was inclusive of non white women and naturally transwomen.

Most women said don't be racist, sod off.

Now transwomen are offended because only the word women will do. The word that was previously racist and transpobic is now a bad word and that's down to feminists...

?????

www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/03/02/twitch-womxn-women-trans-twitter-backlash-transphobia-lgbt/

Pink News outright telling lies.

However, the word has been used extensively bytransphobeson social media in an effort to delegitimise trans women’s identities

I have never seen a transphobe using "womxn" to denigrate trans people. If by "transphobe" they mean someone who genuinely hates trans people there are plenty of far more insulting and easy to understand (and pronounce) terms available (that prat whose name escapes me used a very derogatory term when talking about a failed suicide attempt by a trans women)

If by "transphobe" they mean gender critical feminists, I've never seen it being used by that group to denigrate trans people. As is clear, if there's one thing gender critical feminists and trans women can agree on , it's that "womxn" is a bloody stupid word.

I've only seen it used by the wokiest of woke- Bernardine Evaristo immediately springs to mind.

NiceGerbil · 03/03/2021 01:11

I think the plan is that

Transwomen will be called women

And womxn will be other 'non men'.

That's my guess at the next step.

We were only told to use momxn to be 'inclusive' a year or 2 FGS.

And were told this was the preference of non white feminists (what, globally?) as women did not include non white people (what??? I mean how fucking racist).

Damian Barr?

MissBarbary · 03/03/2021 01:22

Yes - thank you. It was Barr. His tweet was genuinely transphobic.

NiceGerbil · 03/03/2021 01:32

Like I say I think this is where women who don't toe the line get pushed out of the group women.

I said. God it's 6 years ago or something. That it will end up with groups named like this.

Men (men)
Women (who used to be men)
Men (who used to be women) (I think this has changed now and they will go in the next category)
Non people (everyone else)

That may need updating but I think this is the first step.

It also cancels the idea that most people according to stonewall are non binary/ agender etc. IE by tra logic have a trans ID.

You just go in the non men group. Womxn. Womxn and non binary females etc.

NiceGerbil · 03/03/2021 01:37

I also wonder.

Given this is the most urgent oppression/ human rights crisis in the world today.

What are all these orgs doing across all the countries in Africa? In India? In Russia? Etc etc

I've not seen much activity.

Surely as these issues are widespread and urgent, all of the internal orgs need to be promoting self ID, pronouns, etc in eg DRC, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia as a matter of urgency.

Has anyone got any links about orgs tackling this?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/03/2021 01:43

Yes.

Wikipedia has been hastily edited to change Womxn to woman / women and ended up with the nonsense sentence “Women was first used in 2010....”

There are probably a few young wokesters who will believe that

BarbaraofKent · 03/03/2021 09:14

This is another example of how it is clear that everyone knows who really are the men and who are the women. GC feminists have been talking about womxn being a load of bollocks for ages, they are told to shut up and stop being so bigoted etc.

Transwomen start saying it's not inclusive of them and suddenly the whole fucking world is falling over themselves to erase any evidence that 'womxn' was being used, to the point where Wikipedia articles looks absolutely fucking ridiculous and nonsensical. People don't even care that they are making themselves look like complete idiots, as long as certain people aren't upset! It's pathetic!

I know Prick News is a load of click bait crap, and I have seen first hand them outright lie before, but I still find it so unsettling how they can just write a completely bullshit lie in an article just like that?

I distinctly remember unfollowing certain female Instagrammers for the constant use of 'womxn' in their quest to be 'most woke', with one explaining to a follower who asked what it meant that 'it is a word to be more inclusive of transwomen and women of colour'.
