KF may be disappearing shortly due to sect. 230, so we will be even more limited in where you can have a conversation using factually correct/unkind language.

No not kf Shock

PronounssheRa · 10/12/2020 16:38

@Viviennemary

I haven't heard of her either. What she tweeted was downright nasty. Seems nasty things can only be said about certain people. Double standards.
Yeah, I know, its awful isn't it. Have you seen how men interact with women on twitter. Death threats, rape threats, doxing. Zero repercussions.
nancywhisky · 10/12/2020 16:40

Go Kate!

Time now to draw a line.
oh how magnanimous!

Who would they be? Hmm

I agree. That (alleged) Hayden sock said some really genuinely vile things, yet Scottow was in court for "puerile name - calling"

Hundreds of rape threats went unpunished.

Hundreds of death threats went unpunished.

Men tweeting porn at children on JKR's twitter timeline went unpunished (exposing children to that is child abuse).

A blue tick actor is calling for the normalisation of referring to women who defend our rights as ''cunts'', and nothing is done about it.

Those actions go beyond 'downright nasty', they're sick, unhinged and unlawful, but we're told 'it's only the internet, what can you do?'

How many of those people were dragged to court for their online activities? I haven't heard of any. No double standards.

Al1langdownthecleghole · 10/12/2020 17:08

Well done Kate and best wishes to your family

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 10/12/2020 17:08

Congratulations, Kate! Wonderful news. The walls of tyranny are crumbling ...

Fucking hell who is the blue tick actor?

CatsCantCatchCriminals2 · 10/12/2020 17:10

Love and congratulations to Kate xx

Viviennemary · 10/12/2020 17:10

I don't go on Twitter. It sounds like a cess pit.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 10/12/2020 17:29

Wonder if Steph will, um, bobble off now.

jay55 · 10/12/2020 17:51

I don't think Steph an continue without being considered vexatious now.

Campervan69 · 10/12/2020 17:57

This is the blue tick actor although I have no idea who he is.

Great news. Well done Kate. Enjoy your red wine!

yourhairiswinterfire · 10/12/2020 18:09

Beat me to it campervan thank you.

The 2nd pic was his reaction to a woman (1st pic) ribbing him for having pronouns in his bio. We all know it's women defending their rights that are the 'transphobes' or 'terfs', so it's disgusting to see people with his platform encouraging this behaviour when it's overwhelmingly women who'll be the victims of it.

Apparently twitter doesn't think 'cunt' is a gendered insult, or much of an insult at all. (Yet Sarah Phillimore was seemingly suspended for 12hours for calling someone a sad, strange man Confused)

I don't know who this guy is either, apparently he was in that Haunting Of Bly Manor thing recently.

Yes it is. If every person who had something shitty tweeted at them took it to court, our legal system would collapse.

Section 230 of what?
AnyFucker · 10/12/2020 18:32

Finally.

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 10/12/2020 18:34

I think it's the "freedom of speech" for internet in the US; basically a provider (individual person or company) cannot be held liable for content not written by them. I don't think they are obliged to hand over details of users, either.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 10/12/2020 18:35

Section 230 of what?

I believe it is an American law making site owners legally responsible for content posted on their site by others.

That sounds like a Supreme Court case in the making!

I did like the clarification from Barrister Adrian Yalland, that this means that the conviction is struck from the record, and does not exist, unlike any spent convictions, which will always remain on record. I believe that the other "recent case" referenced may have been to deny an injunction against disclosing of spent convictions. But I could be wrong.
