I’m not sure you’re nearly as well informed on this topic as you think you are, jj.

JJ appears to me to be very well-informed, I'm sad to say.

JJ seems to know an awful lot of detail about all these organisations. What they think they've said, what they think they haven't said.

It's jj's self interested spin that is making them appear ignorant.

SophocIestheFox · 25/09/2020 20:02

Fair point, Datun

persistentwoman · 25/09/2020 20:08

All this effort to shut women up. Some people really haven't learnt that we're not going away. It reminds me of that Chinese proverb:

When sleeping women wake, mountains will move.

Thelnebriati · 25/09/2020 20:21

Does Alex Drummond still say they are a lesbian? 'Lesbian' is a protected characteristic. Its a bit rich to claim the protection of the law on behalf of someone who is breaking it.

PearPickingPorky · 25/09/2020 20:24

I almost want to clap jj1968, that's an enormous amount of effort you're putting in on this thread.

I particularly liked your claim that there is no safeguarding issues with trans children at school who aren't medically transitioning so no need to tell the parents, despite "social transitioning" usually involving wanting to use the opposite sex's loos, changing rooms, residentials and sports teams (which is clearly an issue for the female in with boys, as well as all the girls when a male is put in with them). Also that females will usually acquire a binder which causes damage to their ribs, lungs, and makes it difficult to breathe.

But sure! No safeguarding issue there that parents would need to be aware of! It's just a name and pronoun!

@NeurotrashWarrior

Fucking hell Mermaids.

I've just looked at their twitter to see what their responses are.

4 simple clicks to literary porn from their twitter feed.

I've screenshotted below each step taken. Apologies in advance for the last one. I can't add the second which is just Juno's twitter page and links to their blog. The words in the screen shot are what is immediately read on the page.

This was a tweet advocating for "young people."

Did everyone see this post from Neurotrash?

I don't know the context of this paragraph (is ot prostitution and drug use?) but it seems quite shocking, extreme and explicit for a trans charity for children to be sharing it with children.

A bit like that word beginning with G we aren't allowed to say.

SophocIestheFox · 25/09/2020 20:36

Alex’s book “Grrl Alex” appears here as recommended reading for teenagers, as advised by West Berkshire Council in a handout on trans issues for use in schools.

I’m only banging on about this to deomonstrate that it is not a conspiracy that children have been taught in schools concepts like that a lesbian may have a beard and a penis, and that Alex Drummond has had a hand in this. Normally, I couldn’t give a marmalade sandwich for what Alex gets up to, but this may be an example of the kind of material that might benefit from a reread in light of the new guidance.

Furthermore, lesbian is based on same-sex attraction.

Me too 👏👏👏 The sheer amount of slippery verbiage is genuinely impressive, although I'm not sure who it's meant to convince.

PearPickingPorky · 25/09/2020 21:08

I think it will do a great job of convincing people, Elements, I do hope they keep going.

Awww no guys: Sally Hines is done with us. What possibly could have been the last straw for her.

"So here’s the thing, for a long time I have engaged with gender critical thought as a set of ideas. It is now absolutely clear to me that there are no ideas. Just outdated conservative rhetoric and tired reactionary tropes gathered from random internet sources. I’m done."

Oh no! Does that mean Sally will no longer stalk Mumsnet? I’m aghast, affronted and devastated. looks desperately around for a safe place. 😢

CorvusPurpureus · 25/09/2020 22:00

Sally is being ratio'd to absolute fuck. It's joyous to behold.

allofthetings · 25/09/2020 22:05

@MichelleofzeResistance

Who wrote that piece of straightforward common sense in plain English???!

Find them and promote them immediately! Do not let them get away, that's a gift rare anywhere in govt at the moment.

This. And this 🍾
OpenlyGayExOlympicFencer · 25/09/2020 22:35

She sounds hammered.

That’s before she started screaming FUCK OFF to everyone.

bishopgiggles · 25/09/2020 22:47

Ah, she never fails to entertain! Sometimes I do wonder if I've got it all wrong somewhere, but she reassures me every time.

ArabellaScott · 25/09/2020 23:38

I hope she is okay, and I mean that sincerely. She doesn't seem to be in a good place.

ItsLateHumpty · 25/09/2020 23:44

I said a gay or lesbian child. Do you think schools should routinely out children who tell a teacher they think they might be gay to their parents against the wishes of the child?

A gay or lesbian child is not comparable to a ‘trans’ child because sexual orientation doesn’t impact on anyone else ie no pronoun or name change, no wanting to use the opposite single sex spaces, but most importantly will not involve the child starting on an untested medical pathway that can have catastrophic results on for eg fertility, IQ, etc. and possibly lead to irreversible surgery.

I think it’s dangerous to conflate the two.
