Stonewall drop Mermaids?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 12/08/2020 15:46

Seems Stonewall used to direct young people to Mermaids. But the link has been removed from the page?:

www.stonewall.org.uk/help-advice/coming-out/coming-out-young-person

And the page that used to be on there appears to be blank:

www.stonewall.org.uk/organisations/mermaids

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, y'all.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but there's still a link to Mermaids on the NHS Wales Gender Identity page -

If you can think of how to search it, I can look up sectors. I could do the same for anyone else (Stonewall?)

.gov domain gives you central and local government?

Angryresister · 12/08/2020 20:08

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 12/08/2020 20:18

Might have misunderstood the question above but ac.uk is for universities.

Surrey County Council ‘Anti Bullying’ resources - but let’s not worry about bullying girls when they don’t want to be undressed in front of boys

I for one would assist in supporting past the free trial and indeed supporting other costs as a group to archive the madness.
I am very new to this scary world and honestly as an edcuated 40 something i cannot believe this is not more on the radar of friends family and peers. @needaMNnamegenerator

TBH from my reading material
the court case that is brewing about the Tavistock giving life altering drugs without proper assessment to children too young to give legal consent
is making everybody reassess the advice they have parroted in the past.

Unlike a dead babies case sorry to be crass but it is a relevant comparison, the victims of this child abuse are now young, eloquent, angry adults
who will get even more angry and eloquent as the years go by

think Catholic Church for the potential seismic change

Gwynfluff · 12/08/2020 21:09

Is this the safeguarding case. As to be sued by your safeguarding officer is quite something given they work with vulnerable people?

@exwhyzed @BertiesLanding

How did they get wind of something? that's now the burning question. BBC or lawsuits, we'd know as much as them.

Big media story, they can usually keep a lid on?

BovaryX · 12/08/2020 21:14

@ScrimpshawTheSecond

this shitshow is not the work of any one body. The blame is shared out. Together, they have contrived a collective madness that has co-opted the police, the legal system, and the media, as well as the NHS, schools, prisons, etc.

They all should be held to account. This all needs dismantled.

Well said. It is absolutely extraordinary that vast swathes of the state is in thrall to this. As for being held to account? Sadly, I doubt it. What usually happens is a formulaic 'lessons learned' chorus, followed by business as usual and promotion for people who aren't fit to run a bath.
exwhyzed · 12/08/2020 21:20

How did they get wind of something?

as I said, I suspect some will have been approached for comment on something that will be hitting the news soon. Whether that's a investigative documentary, or the court case or possibly a combination of the two (investigative journalism piece riding on the court case and putting out feelers).

The entertainment/ pr industry is a small world, and once one set of legal / pr people get wind of something word soon gets around as they often represent many different people.

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2020 21:21

Interesting. I hope everything is about to come crashing down.

ListeningQuietly · 12/08/2020 21:27

How did they get wind of something?
The court case was scheduled in January
the time scale of these things is that even without COVID it would have been later summer / early autumn.
The court bundles are being assembled
one side is going oh shit when they see the early versions

Given the alacrity with which former acolytes are purging their links, something seems afoot. Maybe after a total dereliction of duty by the Fourth Estate, as exwhy suggests, perhaps an expose is in the pipeline.
