Twitter has suspended me

Glinner · 27/06/2020 03:16

I'm really sorry to barge in on you Mumsnettters with my problems, but
I've been finally suspended from Twitter and I have a feeling they're either going to ban me or just take my verified tick. I've submitted an appeal with Twitter and the Better Business Bureau but I thought I'd post here too so people knew what was going on.

Recently, I keep being locked out of my account and forced to delete tweets to get back in. The latest tactic by trans rights activists is to run a search for any time I've used the word 'groomer', a phrase Twitter recently decided was Not Allowed.

This was not a violation of Twitter's ToS at the time I used the phrase, and I have been careful to avoid it since. I still use the word 'grooming' in various permutations because I believe that gender ideology is a form of societal grooming. It is a very real threat to the wellbeing of women and children and if our ability to name a threat is removed, it is even more difficult to fight that threat.

You may remember that Twitter similarly removed Canadian feminist Meghan Murphy. She lost her account when she said "that's him" about 'Jessica' Yaniv. Bear in mind that Yaniv was still going under 'Jonathan' at the time, and just as in my case, her crime against Twitter's Terms of Service was not actually an offence at the time she committed it. She probably never thought she could be banned from the public square for uttering the words "that's him". But that's Twitter.

Twitter has a high percentage of trans-identified employees and for some time has been silencing feminists and their allies who run afoul of its absurd 'misgendering' policies. The one good thing about my situation is that I'm in great company--Claire Graham, Meghan Murphy, Skylar Gwynn, Miranda Yardley, GNC Centric and many more, important feminist and critical voices who have been silenced for fighting a dangerous ideology that tells children it's possible to be born into the wrong body.

Anyway, that's what's happening. Please let people know it's entirely down to malicious reporting from the usual suspects and please keep watching my YouTube Channel and visiting my depressing blog. I'll also be available on Glindr if people from Twitter want to re-establish contact there. Hope it's ok to post these links to those destinations

Thanks for all the support, and thanks for letting me fight alongside you.

What? Anyone can be hysterical

it's the etymology of the word Edna

the implication being that being a womb bearer makes your brain work less well innit

Dhalmeup · 27/06/2020 16:40

Poos are brown' doesn't mean 'if it's brown it's poo'

Yeah, that is a description of the colour of an object, in this case poo.

You are trying to equate two objects/humans as being the same thing.

You really can’t see the difference?

FliesandPies · 27/06/2020 16:40

@SuperJan

You have read the post wrong (how surprising!) Dhalmeup said both sides of an = sign must be equal to each other.

'Poos are brown' is not an equation. Neither is: shit posts are poos.

SuperJan · 27/06/2020 16:41

Can someone explain to me why 'rich white man loses one privately-owned platform, leaving only his website, his other social media accounts, and his career to fall back on' is a story here?

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 27/06/2020 16:41

I am also a middle aged mother of daughters who thought that there was no issues with accepting the “trans women are women” statement about a year ago. Coming across the story about Jessica Yaniv last year and reading this board changed that.

As someone who was awake early this morning and seeing the aggression in the deleted tweets (which were answered without aggression), I can say for certain that this the kind of people I want to protect my daughters from. They should not come across them in single sex spaces.

TransScandal · 27/06/2020 16:42

I thoroughly support @Glinner for shining a light on this hideousness, as a parent of an autistic daughter who's been groomed online into the trans scandal, I've seen the damage it's caused. This needs more media attention and getting silenced by Twitter has brought attention to it. Making little girls hate, and dissociate with, their bodies is brainwashing. Brainwashing is grooming!

LastRoloIsMine · 27/06/2020 16:43

What? Anyone can be hysterical, shrill and screech too, butlike sillythey are terms used to put women down.

Sigh. It wasnt used to put you down was it?
The argument was deemed silly which it is.
If you are being silly I will say so. I have no idea what sex you are.
If your behaviour fits in with the definition of hysterical I will call you that too.
Same as if your sex fits in with the full definition of male I will call you male.
Words having meaning they are useful like that. Feminisim another great word. I suggest you look up its meaning.

WooblyBoobly · 27/06/2020 16:43

SuperJan What's the definition of a woman that excludes the people you want excluded but doesn't exclude people you don't want excluded?

Let's simplify the question, Jan. What is a woman?

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 27/06/2020 16:44

Can someone explain to me why 'rich white man loses one privately-owned platform, leaving only his website, his other social media accounts, and his career to fall back on' is a story here?

because the things he was saying were generally true, reasonable and the views of the majority

Ritascornershop · 27/06/2020 16:45

Late to the thread, but wanted to add my thanks Graham. It must have been very stressful, consistently standing alongside women against people who would insist we lie about biological reality and who demand we casually drop safe spaces because they tell us to. I’ve admired your bravery and commitment to what is right.

I think virtually all of us wants trans people to have protected housing and jobs as trans people, but we will never give up defining our sex and will never surrender our sex-based rights, and will keep fighting to protect children from the homophobic trans ideology.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/06/2020 16:46

I believe trans women are women.

Why? It's your article of faith. Not mine. Why do I have to share your thoughtless, meaningless, personal and subjective belief?

What is your personal rationale for this belief? Why should women's rights be given up to facilitate it?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/06/2020 16:49

Can someone explain to me why 'rich white man loses one privately-owned platform, leaving only his website, his other social media accounts, and his career to fall back on' is a story here?

Could someone explain to me why his skin colour is in any way relevant, or did you just chuck that in for extra woke points?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/06/2020 16:51

"Transwomen are women" literally means that any male who declares himself to be a woman, must be accepted as one in every way. Can people really not see how ludicrous this catch all assertion is? It's a mantra.

FleetsumNJetsum · 27/06/2020 16:51

Such a good question, SuperJan. What's the definition of a woman ?

peadarm · 27/06/2020 16:54
@Dhalmeup

That's wrong and you know that's wrong.

'Poos are brown' doesn't mean 'if it's brown it's poo'.
Adjective/noun not the best analogy.

“Socrates is a man” would be an improvement, but still not analogous.

How can you know what someone else knows?

TransScandal · 27/06/2020 16:55

Woman: An adult human female

reikizen · 27/06/2020 16:56

Just adding my thanks to the general pot. I am increasingly angry and dispairing about this issue, especially for my two teenage daughters. I am a midwife so I have a pretty good idea about the importance of biology.
Keep fighting the good fight

LillianBland · 27/06/2020 16:57

Transwomen are women

What makes them a woman? If you can’t explain what a woman is, using real science and logic, can you at least explain at what pint a male bodied person changes into a woman?

TransScandal · 27/06/2020 16:57

Female: of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilised by male gametes.

LillianBland · 27/06/2020 16:57

what *point

Tootletum · 27/06/2020 17:00

Why can't you set up your own version of Twitter? The existing one is utter bollocks and I avoid using it.

Graham Lineham is on Parler which is like Twitter but not run by TRAs
IHeartSusanDey · 27/06/2020 17:04

I'm really sorry to hear that Glinner. I was booted off a year ago after an attempted pile on by that Jessen creep and that Arthur Chu. It's a rotten place. Unbelievably misogynistic and filled to the brim with the sickest people in society. Who needs that shit?

TransScandal · 27/06/2020 17:04
