The ever entertaining TRA power couple Fox and Owl were apparently represented by the same agents as the wonderful Ms Rowling.

They, along with some bloke called Drew Davies, have severed ties because the agents refused to issue a public statement slagging off their biggest client.

Being bastions of professionalism they left by telling the guardian.

Weasel and mole?

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 23/06/2020 11:25

They are just so cool. Come on kids be like us, we are just forging a new way and everything in the garden is rosey.

I’d love to see behind the curtain because I think everyone on this board knows that fuck all is rosey and that in 20 years dumb and dumber will be singing from a different hymn sheet.
Our job is to prevent the pipers from dragging as many of our children as possible with them along the way.

DidoLamenting · 23/06/2020 12:17

Ferret and Vole would work

Weasel and mole

Stop it. All perfectly blameless animals.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 23/06/2020 12:20

I think it could be seen as significant that they both chose animals which are predators. Rabbit and hamster don’t have quite the same ring to it

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/06/2020 12:23

But they are so ridiculous I find it hard to watch a lot of things that involve them without thinking I'm watching a spoof documentary comedy on wokeness, a bit like Kerry and Kurtan on This Country.

You're thinking of that amusing BBC3 short film profiling their activism, aren't you? Where they have a cultish chanting session in Totnes and Fox reveals that if not a TRA, Fox would have been a screen printer Grin

Zoikes · 23/06/2020 12:30

It is a glorious thing to see a woman with proper "fuck you" money in action. Once again I adore Rowling for her ovaries of steel.

This is a tipping point I think.

Off to write some thank yous...

Siablue · 23/06/2020 12:35

Surely Fox would not want to be legally represented by the fox killer. I wouldn’t be and I am not a fox.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 12:40

LGB Alliance has turned up a Mermaids promo featuring Fox referring to LGB as ‘a deviant sort of thing’.

archive.md/25JD3

The video is available to watch on the Mermaids thread on 🥝 🚜

Debinaround · 23/06/2020 12:44

I was wondering if the 4th writer is Owl. As in owl has classed owls self as Owl and Ugla because at one point Owl has written under Owl and Ugla. So they are classing Owl as 2 people. They obviously knew that they would be found out so had to say the "4th" writer was anonymous.

Hope that makes sense, it made my head hurt trying to explain.

Zoikes · 23/06/2020 12:46

It means reporters are coerced into stating a "group" of writers instead of 3 (or maybe 4) so adds gravitas (where there is none).

Teacup, storm etc.

Datun · 23/06/2020 12:50

Wow, I can't believe they unearthed that video. I thought it had been wiped from every platform possible.

Fox, representing Mermaids, says they didn't want trans people to be in the same group as LGB, because LGB are deviant?

PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 23/06/2020 12:54

Yikes!

SerenityNowwwww · 23/06/2020 12:55

Mermaids foxes owls... it’s like a flipping Hans Christian Anderson or Grimm brothers fairy tale.

And these never end well.

@DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong

Looks like Owl is also on the AAT payroll (although I didn’t see it on the AAT site)?
Surely AAT only exists to provide Fox and Owl with jobs?
Michelleoftheresistance · 23/06/2020 13:17

featuring Fox referring to LGB as ‘a deviant sort of thing’.

Shock

We point of the homophobia of the actions constantly in the political lobby, but then you run across the flat out evidence that it isn't thoughtlessness or unconsciously done, it's there front and centre in plain terms. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

As with actions based on misogyny/male supremacism values. And classism. We keep pointing out the racism too. Somewhere at some time the words confirming the beliefs beneath the actions will be caught on record in the same way I have no doubt.

JemimaShore · 23/06/2020 13:19

My god, that video! Explain a lot.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 13:21

Mermaids, transing the gay away since 1995!

sourdoughismyreligion · 23/06/2020 13:34

I bet Drew Davies feels like a right idiot now.

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2020 13:34

That video, indeed.

And referring to the child who a court decided needed to be rescued from a mother determined to trans him... I hope that little boy is ok, too. I can't imagine the amount of evidence against her, for courts to make that decision.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 13:44

The last I read on that story was the little boy is now in the full custody of his father and happily attending school having asserted ‘his own masculine gender’

The judges decision is available to read here: www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Fam/2016/2430.html

lionheart · 23/06/2020 14:19

Prodigal. Grin

picklemewalnuts · 23/06/2020 14:30

That's remarkable, Dududu.

I skimmed some- it's very long- but felt quite weepy at parts. I was a foster carer, and recognise some of the situations referred to. Very impressive judge, that, with extraordinary sensitivity.

Lamahaha · 23/06/2020 15:06

Full statement by the authors Fox Owl and Davies.
The comments are great!!!
