As if she thinks that we all just decided we hate trans people so we’re going to make up concerns to ‘other‘ them, as if she thinks someone like JK Rowling, who is otherwise very liberal and caring, obviously loves kids and gives millions to good causes has suddenly decided to pick on this one group for completely unfounded reasons, as if she’s got nothing better to do.

I think she does actually have 'mummy issues' of some sort, she's estranged from her mother, so perhaps she hates older women. The tweet she's responding to is a load of nonsense as well. Preserving the rights that both women and gender reassigned trans people already have enshrined in law is not a 'rollback'.

I am still new to this, but it seems to be that this is a bit of a socioeconomic class issue. It is so easy for all wealthy, well educated women to say that they support trans women and are happy to share their spaces. I get the sense of a glitzy night club where they are welcoming in flamboyant trans women.

I am not sure that many are considering the changing rooms at the council leisure centre, prisons with vulnerable women, refuges or any other single sex spaces for the women less fortunate. In that sense they are offering to share what they do not use anyway.

Am I completely off here?

Jameela is the product of a not particularly selective, expensive, central London all girls private school. International but sheltered, multi racial but not particularly diverse. I think her unquestioning entitlement comes from there.
