Just wondering if anyone's seen this on Twitter. Quite a funny, interesting thread, eg

#AskDanielRadcliffe When was the last time you showed solidarity with trans activists by dating a trans woman, and what steps are you taking to unlearn your genital preferences?

Is the first one that showed up when I clicked. Sorry if it's old news.

Maybe pride should have been postponed this year to stop it distracting from BLM? Or maybe BLM could have waited til Pride was over before protesting? Or maybe we can give attention to 2 causes, but 3 is too many? BLM + pride = fine. BLM + pride + feminism = head exploding from too much activism. If we have to wait for pride to finish before we can advocate for women's rights, can they at least keep it to a single month, instead of the 6 it went on for last year? If we can only take up 1 cause at a time then they can't monopolise half the bloody year for it.

From a poster on the Lipstick Alley thread:

The UK radfems don't play.

MN can check? Hahahahaha.
G’wan. Go give ‘em shit in Lipstick Alley and tell them they exude white privilege. Grin

Blackdoggotmytonguestill · 16/06/2020 00:09

But I bet you won’t bother. Bahahaha.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 16/06/2020 00:17

waited to make it all about her views at a time where BAME issues and gay pride wasnt occurring. But I guess it's all about the Trans issue....

Holy shit, you pulled the old ‘sorry ladies, we don’t have time for you until after the election/war/revolution. Get on with stuffing those leaflets/working in the munitions factory/cooking our tea and we’ll see if there is a bit of time to squeeze your concerns on the agenda next month/year/decade’.

Same patriarchal shit, just wearing a frock this time!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/06/2020 00:17

I'm pretty sure you won't bother.

And you'd be right. I don't care what she says about female v trans issues. I vaguely know what she thinks and I don't see why her view is more important than any other feminist.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/06/2020 00:20

TWAW is an article of faith. That's all there is to it. My feminism centres females. I don't need to listen to her opinion on theology, either.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 16/06/2020 00:27

Here’s Rose of Dawn (transwomen) with a run down of how many Pride/LGBT celebration/remembrance/visibility Days/Weeks/Months there are now.

Do you think women should only speak up for their own rights when there is a free day in the diary? Only, we already got told to budge up for transwomen and non binary femmes on International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Maybe we could have one of those boring days between Xmas and new year when the weather is rubbish and no one can afford to do anything?

FantaOra · 16/06/2020 00:28

You are properly repeating yourself smile

I know that it's a delicate subject but we are all about supporting mental health here, so can I ask if you have looked at the possible causes that mean you forget you have already said the same thing something a few minutes ago?
Just a suggestion.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 16/06/2020 00:29

Soooo is there an end date set for BLM then? Maybe we can work out a rota with a month each? BLM - June, Pride - July, Feminism - August (best to squeeze it in before the schools go back, don't you think?) Or are you actually just saying "no feminism until we've solved all other global inequality".

BlackBucketOfCheese · 16/06/2020 00:43

I’ve seen some horrifying stuff on that hashtag tonight.

Melia100 · 16/06/2020 00:51

It's just 'stop pushing to the front girls, let everyone else go ahead'.

Nah, mate, you're good. I'm happy pushing to the front. Only took me 4 decades to work out I could, so I don't plan on going back to the dark old days.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/06/2020 00:54

Or are you actually just saying "no feminism until we've solved all other global inequality".

Pretty sure that's what she's saying. Unless we practice the kind of "feminism" that recognises the need to put women's rights aside for the greater good.

FantaOra · 16/06/2020 01:07

I like this tweet on the hashtag

Has a menstruator ever been President of the U.S? I just googled and all I could find are cites saying all 45 have been men, but that means nothing. Can someone plz help me unlock this mystery?

As men menstruate it is very likely that many men menstrated will presidenting. Perhaps they can tell us how they managed their periods whilst on Airforce 1 if they ran out of tampons in the air on the way somewhere with no shops handy?

MissingLesbianSpaces · 16/06/2020 03:41

I was driving fast, hit a bump, and felt something jiggle "up there". I bet Daniel can tell me what it is!!

exLtEveDallas · 16/06/2020 06:54

It’s still going strong this morning I see. Some sad and some horrific posts, but the majority are wonderfully sarcastic. I do like the way women can express themselves without resulting to death threats.

I expect some doctors and lawyers are up in arms about it mind.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 16/06/2020 07:10

MN can check

Hmm
backseatcookers · 16/06/2020 07:32

And has no history at all for fighting for women. Apart from this.

You really are making yourself look very silly @Smilethoyourheartisbreaking.

She has a long established history (20 years) of working with charities focused on supporting women. A couple of examples:

JKR was the Ambassador and then the President of the National Council for One-Parent Families, now Gingerbread.

In 2000, Rowling established the Volant Charitable Trust, which uses its annual budget to combat poverty and social inequality, with a particular emphasis on women and children.

So the mature thing to do would be to admit you got that wrong.

TitianaTitsling · 16/06/2020 09:16

Paris Lees and 'the allies' are planning on flooding the #askdanielradcliffe with nice questions and also report the # as one of hate....

JemimaShore · 16/06/2020 09:19

Of course! - TRAs can't have women talking about female biology Shock

Dances · 16/06/2020 09:37

And yet, women are sad for posting about their lives

mobile.twitter.com/shonfaye/status/1272653983530864644

Dances · 16/06/2020 09:42

It's a brilliant hashtag, so many examples of the reality of biologically female.

It astounds me that the TRAs can't just STFU and ignore it, because it will go away, but no, they must control women speaking at all times

Excellent!

@Smilethoyourheartisbreaking

Talking that tribe has been used for years. Shows you are not needed. Thank you
Can anyone translate this for me? WTF?

Along with “MN can check”, and all the other gems, I’m now wondering if Smile’s whole sojourn here wasn’t in fact a piece of surrealist performance art. Or absurdist. Or shiteist.

Mamma mia.
