You can send JKR a card or letter of support by posting them to this address:

J.K. Rowling
c/o Bloomsbury Publishing PLC
50 Bedford Square
London WC1B 3DP
United Kingdom

It would be wonderful to see her inundated with personal messages of support. Mine's in the post.

I've just emailed this morning.
Her piece yesterday was amazing.

Shedbuilder · 11/06/2020 09:14

Don't know how many of us are in a position to do this, but I made a similar suggestion to send JKR a card on my FB account — mainly GC people because the woke ones dropped me ages ago when I started posting stuff I'd found on here — and it's been really positive. I want sack-loads of cards, queues of Royal Mail vans around Bedford Square!

I have sent a card.

I also emailed -thank you reply received was not an office reply, which I half expected.

Reply received 11 mins later!

Cheered me up.

I need to find a nice card today. At the moment all I can find are left over Christmas cards!

MrsSlocombesPussy · 11/06/2020 09:41

I'm thinking of buying a stock of these cards

EdgeOfACoin · 11/06/2020 09:43

I have sent her a thank you card in the post.

jhuizinga · 11/06/2020 10:27

I donated to Lumos at the weekend and sent a card and an email yesterday. Got a lovely response to the email very quickly. My admiration for her couldn't be greater.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 11/06/2020 14:33

Agreed. I emailed and got a response amazingly quickly. I hope she gets tangible proof from across the world of what it means to have someone refuse to bend the knee.

BatShite · 11/06/2020 19:17

Sent a card now. Its important she sees how appreciated she is, as the abuse recieved must be staggering to deal with in such amounts. Plenty of men raging that a woman disagreed with them, but many women agree with her,m even if they cannot publically say so.

NotAGirl · 11/06/2020 21:44

I emailed and got a lovely reply from her office. I'll send a postcard as well.
I'm not too worried about the risk of being doxxed by someone on her staff, I think she'd take it rather more seriously than MN who were a bit naive and I suspect thought it would blow over.

twoHopes · 11/06/2020 21:49

This is a lovely idea and will definitely join you. I'm imagining all these letters from GC women flooding through her letterbox just like the opening scene of Harry Potter Smile

Thecazelets · 11/06/2020 21:54

I sent an email a few days ago and had a nice reply too.

WinterIsGone · 12/06/2020 09:27

I'm bumping this thread. I sent a card yesterday.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 12/06/2020 11:13

Gave up trying to find a nice card - have just written on a left over Christmas card designed by my 5yo Grin I'm sure she won't mind. Plus art is definitely not my daughter's gift... It's actually hard to tell what the hell the pictures are meant to be anyway.

SocialConnection · 12/06/2020 15:17

I've just sealed my card ready to go.

It says

'Dear Miss Rowling

Thank you.

Thank you for standing up for women and girls, for children, for autistic people, for LGB people.

Thank you for having the courage to do what I can't because I lack the personal and financial courage to speak out.

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this for stating simple, basic truth.

Many people support you but don't dare say so and I'm sorry about this too

All the very best to you and your family .'

Elladisenchanted · 12/06/2020 16:13

I emailed - thank you for posting it contact details. I handmake cards so I hope I'll get a chance to make and send one over the weekend but at least an email has been sent.
I feel like it's a tangible way to combat the waves of hate and abuse coming her way and to show her that she may be on the front lines but there are thousands of women cheering her on and standing with her.
I am also worried about doxxing but I used my own name. If she can be brave then so can I.

Userzzz · 12/06/2020 16:16

Great idea!! Thanks OP.

oscarandelliesdad · 12/06/2020 16:22

Thanks for the address... Have sent her an email.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 12/06/2020 17:22

That's very concise social I waffled something dreadful in mine Grin. My email was better at getting to the point but when I put physical pen to paper it was a bit of an outpouring.

Posted mine this afternoon. Made me feel a bit better.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/06/2020 17:28

Mine was also short and sweet, Social. I was afraid I'd never stop if I got started properly!

CountFosco · 12/06/2020 18:32

I also sent an email and got a personal reply. Will send a card as well. Agree, love the idea of hundreds of letters flying through her letterbox 🦉🦉🦉

HermionesMom · 12/06/2020 18:47

Something else you could do if it hasn't been mentioned is donate to her charity., You can do it in honour of someone. Maybe Magdalen Burns?

StandUpStraight · 12/06/2020 18:55

Card written ready for tomorrow’s post. Great idea. I have this image in my head of hundreds of envelopes flying through the post box and down the chimney. Wonder where I got that from. Smile

StandUpStraight · 12/06/2020 18:57

I see I’m not the only one! Sorry - not reading properly

mum2jakie · 12/06/2020 19:39

I'm going to order a copy of the latest Cormoran Strike book to show my appreciation
