I'm de-lurking, and posting for the first time, to say that I also sent an email to offer thanks and solidarity to JK Rowling for her public defence of the rights of women and girls. Thanks to the PP who posted an email address at which JK (or her elves) can be contacted and thanks to the OP who started this heartening thread

She supports Gingerbread, the charity for single parents, which isn't specifically a women's charity but obviously the vast majority of beneficiaries are women. Others too but that's the one I know best. It certainly hasn't gone down the GirlGuides/NSPCC woke morons route, I know that for sure.

I am emailing or writing her a postcard. I also send thank you cards to Lewis Moonie and to Janice Turner - those two only because I knew where to reach them. I wanted them to know that ordinary women like me see what they are doing and are grateful.

I've just written a card to her. Just need to pop it in my handbag where it will stay getting bent and grubby for 7 weeks for when I next go past a letter box.
