I've had a standing order up for a year or so too. It was Ogre that inspired me to set it up.

VRR has been under attack since 2002 when they told a middle-aged 'transitioner' that he couldn't work as a rape counsellor.

Validation for their identity is more important to them than actually supporting women who have been raped. That is disgraceful.

This is where the unthinking mantra of "be kind" leads to. Kindness is great but I think it should be directed towards abused women, not the kind of people who will wield it like an open access pass to those women.

It was a little bit earlier than that - in the mid 90s. They finally won at the Supreme Court in 2007, 12 years later. TRAs have been gunning for them since then.

To be fair to Oger, that is purely application of the law.

It is, as far as I can tell, illegal in Canada for rape centres to exclude anyone who says they are a woman.
