A reminder that:

• Morgane Oger is a transwoman and there are various allegations about them stalking women.
• Vancouver Rape Relief has been defunded because it refused to admit people with penises.

This is who liberal feminist academics are enabling by pretending that biology doesn't exist

Personally, I'd rather share a shelter with a natal man than a trans woman. At least the natal man isn't pretending to be someone they're not and forcing me to play along.

Not doing well in the winning hearts and minds and the whole love, inclusivity and intersectionality really, old Oger. As if all that is nothing more than a bit of lipservice to distract people while bashing women and stripping them of their rights for personal gain.

I am writing to let you know how horrified and disgusted I am at the recent news that the council has voted to withdraw further funding from Vancouver Rape Relief.

Not content with standing by as this much needed safe space for vulnerable women escaping abuse was relentlessly targeted by transactivists, you further seek to abuse those already traumatized by removing an important lifeline.

In your abject desperation to prove how inclusive you are, you have further proved how little you care for women. And by women, I mean those born female. You should be thoroughly ashamed and embarrassed by the rank misogyny you continue to display, and which has now been laid bare for the whole world to see.

If this is how you treat rape survivors and other victims of brutality, I can't imagine why any woman would choose to visit your city. You need to seriously reflect on why you've allowed an aggressive minority to dictate your morals. Shame on you!

Bear in mind that IIRC this is the last female-only rape crisis centre left in Vancouver. If males who identify as trans require support, they have more options than female survivors who absolutely need a female-only space. Bec Wonders, who knows the centre and its work, said it supports extremely vulnerable women and girls.

I do wonder if that might be because in Vancouver, if you absolutely need to access help but you cannot cope with being re-traumatised in a mixed-sex space, this is the only place left to go.

I think it’s wonderful people are donating to VRR. I’d like to say, though, that to say Canada is a disgrace feels like some people are tarring all of us with the same brush. There is certainly far too much knee-jerk support here for TWAW, however there are also the brave women at VRR and many others here (in BC and the rest of the country) who support them.

And Ogre (deliberate spelling) has only had a partial victory. The defunding is, I believe, from the city council only, the majority funding comes from the province and the provincial government continues to support VRR. It’s particularly important for voters in BC to let their MLA’s know we insist the province keep funding a women’s only VRR.

Oger has done more harm, in a more calculated way.

And Oger is desperate to distance themselves from Yaniv, because they know they are toxic to their cause. Yaniv has never been the problem, only the symptom. It is Oger and the like who provide the environment in which Yaniv can operate.

I've just been listening about how Erin Pizzey opened the first DV shelter for women in 1971. (It was on Woman's Hour.) She managed to do that against all the odds and is a wonderful person.

My question would be: why can't the Ogers of this world campaign for shelters for men who now identify as women? Against all the odds. And become wonderful people.

I know the answer - some bullshit about validation and entitlement. But surely something could be done along those lines by somebody?

So if there are several other centres that will admit TW, why the need to campaign against the only one that won't? What is the point, sounds like there is enough provision already for TW?

Why doesn't this individual focus their energies on helping TW access the spaces where they are welcome?
