But is it Weetbix or Weetabix?
Is Weetbix the supermarket own label stuff?

I have to know before I post solidarity because, well pedantry, brand names etc etc.

NotTheLangCleg · 22/01/2020 11:20

I am not made of wheat but nonethless I know in my heart that I AM WEETABIX.

Lordfrontpaw · 22/01/2020 11:20

@OhGodWhatTheHellNow oh please don't tell me (was it rat dropping and nose pickings?)

SlightlyWizened · 22/01/2020 11:23

This is solidarity pushed to an extreme limit. I'm not sure I can cope.
Weetabix, banana and hot milk is cereal mushed to an extreme solidity and I can cope even less.

Thelnebriati · 22/01/2020 11:23

Oh bloody hell, has it come to this. I also am Weetabix.
(I still maintain BWH was originally intended to be used as glue.)

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:26

I am Weetbix!

Although I am happy with Weetabix although they are not as tasty. And am proud to admit I was sent to school with Weetbix and vegemite.

Tartyflette

Weetbix is an Australian version, the original I believe . A bit like Tim Tams being a copy of Penguins.

NotBadConsidering · 22/01/2020 11:29

Of course, if the moderators had banned her there and then, no one would've given a single solitary fuck and probably just opened the door for her on her way out

🤣🤣🤣

I am Weetbix, not Weetabix because there’s no A in Australia. Not in the word Weetbix I mean. There’s 3 As in Australia obviously but, oh you know what I mean. Made by a different company.

DanaPhoenix · 22/01/2020 11:30

tartyflette
Different name in different countries. Here in Australia it's Weetbix in U.K. It's Weetabix.
Of course now you have possibly started a cross Commonwealth fight 😂

As the jingle used to go "Aussie Kids....are Weetbix Kids.

NotBadConsidering · 22/01/2020 11:32

A bit like Tim Tams being a copy of Penguins.

Woah, hang on there. Tim Tams are a level way above and beyond Penguins.

DanaPhoenix · 22/01/2020 11:32

Beat me to it Winesalot. Speaking of wine, I'm raising a glass of in toast to Lang. Salut. Don't judge it's 10:30pm here.

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:33

As far as wiki is concerned ‘Weet-Bix, the breakfast cereal, was developed by Bennison Osborne in Sydney, Australia in the mid-1920s.’

But in truth, I prefer vitabrits but in this case, I will standby Weetbix in whatever form or spelling.

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:36

Danaphoenix. No judging. Wouldn’t matter if you were this side of globe, I am often found with a glass in hand by mid morning....

NewYearsHumberElla · 22/01/2020 11:36

I am Weetabix, but only if it’s slathered in butter and sprinkled with salt.
I’m doing detective work on spinster now to find out where you all are!

DanaPhoenix · 22/01/2020 11:37

Ha I've had days like that.

RadicalFern · 22/01/2020 11:38

I used to love it in threads when the discussion suddenly veered off into recipes. I did quite a lot of screengrabbing of the tasty looking ones...

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:39

Notbadconsidering

I agree wholeheartedly. However, Tim tams are a copy (superior in my opinion) of Penguins from what I have read on the history.

LangSpartacusCleg · 22/01/2020 11:41

Tim Tams being a copy of Penguins.

Really? I never made the connection. I want to do a taste test now. Where in Sydney can you get Penguins???

Weetabix is better than Weetbix, though. Already taste tested that.

But back to the thread - I am a very tolerant person and am therefore willing to support Lang despite her questionable taste in breakfasts. Banana? Really?

LangSpartacusCleg · 22/01/2020 11:43

As the jingle used to go "Aussie Kids....are Weetbix Kids.

They were happy little vegemites too. (Yuck)

RadicalFern · 22/01/2020 11:44

Tim Tams are a definite upgrade on the Penguin. But do they have the bonus terrible jokes?

TirisfalPumpkin · 22/01/2020 11:46

I am weetabix

although these days am cheating on the bix with cinnamon grahams

Datun · 22/01/2020 11:46

Despite the horror, of "Lang's Weetabix Banana Horror",

I am also Weetabix

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:49

LangSpartacusCleg

There are British Sweet/Lolly shops in Sydney if you really want to try. But just take my word for it. They are noticeably different in texture of biscuit and quality of chocolate.

I accept the Weetabix vs Weetbix. I did prefer vitabrits but now have a wheat allergy so ....

Still standing in solidarity though.

Winesalot · 22/01/2020 11:50

Radicalfem

There is jokes in Penguins????

Bananabixfloof · 22/01/2020 11:51

I actually am bananabix (see up there, yup name changed in solidarity)
It's a cousin of weetabix, and if it isn't it should be.
Waiting for this whole thread to disappear soon because its goady or some shit.

Redshoeblueshoe · 22/01/2020 11:52

I am Weetabix.
I am also prepared to agree that it's wine o'clock Wine

I expect MNHQ are having a large delivery of Gin
