I am a long time lurker but infrequent poster here but I needed to bring this to everyone's attention.
I have found out that Mumsnet HQ have banned the fabulous LangCleg simply for repeatedly pointing out the repeated times coercive control has been used by the moderators to stop women talking.
I understand it started with a conversation when a post was deleted because she allegedly used a sweeping generalisation but they couldn't or wouldn't confirm the generalisation and when she challenged them they decided to ban her on the basis of previous comments.

So it now seems pointing out coercive control is now grounds for being banned, thus proving that coercive control is being used.

I for one would like @MumsnetHQ to provide an explanation here as this is really not on

(also taking bets on how long before the thread is deleted)

I think I might have to join Netmums. mumsnet used to be the online equivalent of speakers corner but now it's more like Tiananmen Square as far as free speech is concerned.

I googled LangCleg and found a twitter feed with her name in it. It seems someone has been very active recently tracking what is going on in FWR. I think this may be connected.

There are definitely some people trawling MN determined to make women feel unsafe to speak freely in women's spaces by getting them banned.

JP is always hanging around and sock puppeting on here. Nothing new there from a not particularly nice person. Whether JP was involved in the reporting, I don't know but if it were true it would only confirm what everyone is saying about MNHQ being played.

I’m blocked. Never tweeted but I’m blocked. Hohum. I do like a lot of charity tweets and have only retweeted the (very) odd ‘I’ve lost my wedding ring, anyone near Waterloo station?’ type tweets (must be that).

So no response then rattle and they won’t acknowledge this thread.

So @MNHQ will let any old crap stand (about Markle all over the site for example) but reasoned, sensible, factually based opinions will not be tolerated?!

We are forever revising guidelines that prove unworkable. It's normal.

Who's opinion does MNHQ value the most? Valued members who are knowledgeable about safeguarding, or anti-feminist twitter furries?

The trouble is that your assurances are worth less and less as your moderation style becomes more and more draconian. Trust is being eroded.
