I am a long time lurker but infrequent poster here but I needed to bring this to everyone's attention.
I have found out that Mumsnet HQ have banned the fabulous LangCleg simply for repeatedly pointing out the repeated times coercive control has been used by the moderators to stop women talking.
I understand it started with a conversation when a post was deleted because she allegedly used a sweeping generalisation but they couldn't or wouldn't confirm the generalisation and when she challenged them they decided to ban her on the basis of previous comments.

So it now seems pointing out coercive control is now grounds for being banned, thus proving that coercive control is being used.

I for one would like @MumsnetHQ to provide an explanation here as this is really not on

(also taking bets on how long before the thread is deleted)

I normally lurk on this board, however just wanted to voice my support for Lang. I enjoy Lang's posts. Personally, I have found that Lang's speak a lot of sense. They cut through the crap and provide clarity.

Awful, not to mention puzzling, decision @MNHQ.

It's an instinctive and tempting reaction, I think to flounce in solidarity, but this is exactly what these people want (as per those Twitter shots) - they want to silence us and like fuck will I just give in and give them what they want.

If we want to express our feelings about LangCleg's treatment we need to address it with MN, not go and discuss it elsewhere.

I am imagining us all staging a giant virtual MN sit in clutching our #RestoreLang placards and chanting. Strength in numbers. And I'm already banned from Twitter

Lang, if you’re reading this, I add my best wishes. I will miss your down to earth posting and intelligent, well-informed commentary. Shocked at this decision.

Until recently I have been a school governor and Lang's posts helped me to have a better understanding of safeguarding and to do a better job of asking the right questions to keep ALL the children in the school safer. It is a huge loss to me and no doubt to other people like me.

So this has encouraged dozens of lurkers to post in FWR for the first time ( hello, welcome, please stay, just don't ask me to explain the rules) and several women to also sign up to another space where we can talk freely and continue to learn from Lang's knowledge of safeguarding. Seeing as MN banned Stratters for very dubious reasons I am no longer surprised by anything they do. Seems of you’re vocal in complaining against them after a while they sling you out.

I've only recently become aware of many of the issues discussed on this board. LangCleg helped me understand a great deal. Not going anywhere now.

@pombear - almost, I prefer to view Hiroo as a character that refused to stop fighting for the cause believed in, refusing to accept what was heard through lines of perceived disingenuous communication. This rang true to me when I first heard the story and still does, suspect refusing to accept what we are told, contrary to our beliefs is likely what unites us and brings us to a forum such as this.

As for shutting down any debate, quite the opposite really. I happened to agree with much of what Lang had to say, both interesting, informative and always thought provoking. That said, if we cannot continue such debate within certain boundaries then our arguments are delegitimised and this doesn’t do a great deal to further our cause.

I doubt mumsnet would want to lose a poster such as Lang and I would love to know more about why this disagreement couldn’t be resolved in a more constructive way

Shocking decision. I thought this was a place for respectful debate, and I always found LangCleg respectful, balanced, clear and thoughtful. Not on MNHQ!

The answer is in the question. Safeguarding appears to be a forbidden topic on FWR. Perhaps site wide. Time will tell as more an more people become aware of the issues.
