I'm quite happy to talk about Posie on a thread, that's why I'm here. I think she's great.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/10/2019 19:08

Oh, come on, this isn't even good filibustering. At least make an effort.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 17/10/2019 19:11

So to sum up the last 22 pages:

"look what posie did"
"Yeah, she has a right to do that, what do you want us to say?"
"Just look!!"
"She's not even a member here, she's nothing to do with us."
"But look at what she's doing"

"What do you want us to do about it?"
"Look at it!! You women are terrible feminists"
"She's not even a member here, she's nothing to do with us."
"I can talk about her if i want on a thread about her!"

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 19:13

I get why she annoys the TRA - they've tried to have her banned from every platform they can. They've badmouthed her, accused her of all sorts, and she just doesn't care Grin

She just keeps popping up everywhere, and getting everyone talking. It must infuriate them.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 19:17

Plus they've tried to have her arrested and charged. Twice.

Nothing keeps this woman down. Cheers to women who won't be kept down Wine

Datun · 17/10/2019 19:21

It must infuriate them.

Clearly

PandaPaws99 · 17/10/2019 19:33

Brilliant post by @stealthsquirrelnutkin (on Monday!!) I've only just had tome to watch the interview on YouTube and had to come here to find out what MN thought. It's taken a while to read this thread and @Datun has it spot on - Posie's doing her thing bloody well because we're all still talking about it!

My opinion - he's a horrible person, obviously a lot of baggage there and he lets it colour his life and his views on everything. Posie's facial expressions said she thought he was a twat even though there's a couple of views they shared. It was so obvious that she wasnt there to talk TO him - she was using it as a way of speaking publicly, without interruption (I admired his excellent technique btw), on a subject she is passionate about. You don't get a lot of opportunities to do that, especially not in front of such a large and diverse audience (his channel has 22000+ subscribers), so good for her for grabbing that.

She has reiterated a number of times that she doesn't call herself a feminist, she has never lied about her associations, she certainly isn't profiting financially from them (or why would she be working so hard on flogging merchandise) and she appears only to be using their connections to gain a bigger audience OF PEOPLE WHO MIGHT NOT READ MN OR GC WOMEN ON TWITTER.

LIke most people I meet, I don't agree with everything she says or believes in, but I absolutely support her right to say what she thinks. I've met her a few times and have found her to be a likeable, energetic and genuine person, with no patience for power games or agendas.

(I'd like to see that awful man in a head to head with ghastly Ben Shapiro...)Grin

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 19:35

She's not even a member here, she's nothing to do with us."

But people aren't saying that though are they? That's a neutral statement.

They are saying "well, we think she's great"

For the people who think she's great - what are her views on abortion?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 19:39

she appears only to be using their connections to gain a bigger audience OF PEOPLE WHO MIGHT NOT READ MN OR GC WOMEN ON TWITTER.

So she wants to connect with subscribers to his channel? So people who support his views are the people that she wants to connect with?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 17/10/2019 19:41

ut people aren't saying that though are they? That's a neutral statement.

They are saying "well, we think she's great"

Yes different people have varying different opinions.
That's okay. They have every right to those opinions.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/10/2019 19:43

Right at the very beginning of the thread a fangirl of the bloke Posie talked to showed up and got very cross at me and others pointing out that no, being from Quebec doesn't mean it's OK for him to be a racist. We could have had an interesting conversation from there, but hey, why do that when you can filibuster all of the threads?

If someone does that on one thread, fair enough, sometimes people just disagree. If they do it constantly, on every thread they participate in, then that's a pattern and everyone can see it regardless of how much they protest.

(I'm not going to engage with the filibusters so they may as well save themselves some typing.)

Panda right wing bloke cage fight could be very entertaining! Make it pay per view since they all love capitalism so much.

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 19:48

So she wants to connect with subscribers to his channel? So people who support his views are the people that she wants to connect with?

Silly billy! PP wants to connect with anyone to tell them that children are being abused by the medical and pharmaceutical industries across the world.

You are trying to make it sound as if such connection is exclusive to that bloke and his ilk.

It isn't! Maybe avoid being so disingenuous?

We see you for the trouble-maker you are aiming to be.

PandaPaws99 · 17/10/2019 19:51

@TequilaPilates It might surprise you that not all of his subscribers necessarily support his views. I follow Owen Jones and Trump on Twitter, despite despising them both. I read the Times, Guardian, Spectator, Mail, Private Eye and several online publications: I find it's good to get an even spread of information on things so you can make more informed opinions yourself. Posie talking to that man's subscribers and to HF followers etc means that a whole bunch of extra people get to learn about what's happening to our kids, and the implications of self-ID. Surely that's a good thing?

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 19:54

PandaPaws99 Very well said.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/10/2019 19:56

I read some right wing sources because quite frankly if they're planning something I'd rather know about it in advance. You can't fight what you don't understand or aren't even aware of.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 19:57

For the people who think she's great - what are her views on abortion?

According to her previous posts on here, posie is pro choice.
Why do you ask?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 20:02

She's not even a member here, she's nothing to do with us

*But people aren't saying that though are they? That's a neutral statement. They are saying "well, we think she's great"

I think @EarlyWalker and @TequilaPilates are talking sense, there's some great posts in between all the "she's great with good hair , why does it matter where she gets her message across?"
If it's somewhere that sounds the complete opposite of feminism and far right views, how is that helping women?
It's just coming across as "we don't care how much someone pisses all over women's rights or hates them, as long as they agree with me on trans issues it's all OK."
No.
No way.
It's frightening to think people would happily collaborate with any far right view people if it furthers their agenda.
I mean, who are their audience? People who are already subscribed will hold much the same views to follow in the first place - people who won't want their views challenged or disagreed with, people who think all his opinions are A- OK.
This is why I can't get on board with some of the posters and views on here, if it sounds hyperbolic I'm not meaning to but it's how I feel.
How, if he really is anti women (from what I've read as there's no way I'm clicking to watch some of the videos and to give more traffic/and/or ad revenue/exposure) can anyone be on board with that?
I don't get it.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 20:06

PandaPaws99

But if he has monetinised his channel then he's earning revenue from people like you. Are you ok with that?

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 20:09

You can relax, his channel does not appear to be monetised.

No adverts anyway.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 17/10/2019 20:09

This is why I can't get on board with some of the posters and views on here, if it sounds hyperbolic I'm not meaning to but it's how I feel.

You have every right to this opinion, please don't feel you have to end with this, be proud of it.

Datun · 17/10/2019 20:11

I'm so loving this thread.

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 20:14

He has monetised his channel. He has 22,000 subscribers on one and 50,000 on another. His videos have adverts.

Anyone who sees no issue with funding a misogynistic white supremacist, needs to look at themselves and what they stand for imo.

If you think trans are the most important issue and you’re happy to see anyone else rise for that to be heard, no matter how abhorrent they are, and how much they want to throw some women/people under the bus, then say it how it is.

But admit what you’re saying and what that means. Don’t hide behind ‘she did it’ if you’re happy she did.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 20:15

You can relax, his channel does not appear to be monetised. No adverts anyway

Even if it wasn't monetised with adverts, all the clicks/hits and extra traffic would further him and his views.
More clicks on his channel, more people get to see his videos.
Including all the ones that isn't the Posie video and (presumably?) ) people on here might not be as comfortable with.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/10/2019 20:17

He has monetised his channel. He has 22,000 subscribers on one and 50,000 on another. His videos have adverts

Sorry, cross post there you go then - if he has monetised then it's money in his pocket from each hit.
If your Youtube channel has adverts you usually get a percentage of money from each view and the visitor stats.
The more views, the more money.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 17/10/2019 20:19

Earlywalker

Do you not think this will also have the advantage of showing everyone the kind of person Posie actually is?
