Perhaps the critics should also undertake research about other USA extreme donors to the global Trans Lobby:

"Martine" Rothblatt, Jon Stryker, George Soros to name a few?

BickerinBrattle

Well, as I'm not in the US not attend or have anything to do with Stonewall in the UK it doesn't really alter how I live my life.

Berating Women on here will make no difference to Posie.

I posted on a thread about this video. That's what I was discussing. If other people want to post agreeing with the video then a discussion will take place won't it?

Are we all meant to post in agreement with each other then?

Alternatively I could ask why you all are so keen to be berating me and early for daring to have a different view to the others on here.

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 17:46

Possibly because you have been going on about this for days and have failed to have any influence?

Maybe recognise when you are on to a losing streak and give it up? Throw in your hand?

How does what Posie does on a YouTube channel alter how you live your life?

Butterisbest · 17/10/2019 17:50

I haven't berated you Tequila or Early.
I definitely agree with this comment though.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 17:55

How does what Posie does on a YouTube channel alter how you live your life?

Maybe read the thread. A poster was suggesting all the people I would need to avoid if I don't want to give my patronage to those with views I disagree with.

That is separate to posie and YouTube.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 17:58

That's what I don't understand - you said those others with links to some rather unpleasant right wingers don't affect you - so why does Posie?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 17:58

Possibly because you have been going on about this for days and have failed to have any influence?

I'm not seeking to influence you. I'm trying to understand why people who claim to be feminists first and foremost can be so quick to set aside their feminist ideals.

I'm also interested to know what people are meant to discuss on a thread about Posie and a youtuber if it's not Posie and said youtuber?

Well, you've had a few parallels drawn - like Louis Theroux - and they don't seem to upset you - so why does Posie?

You've said all the aforementioned people/organisations don't affect your life - so why does Posie?

I think you just don't like or agree with Posie, so just relish the opportunity of a stick to beat her with.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/10/2019 18:03

(Waves at littlebrowndog - the thread hasn't moved on at all so you haven't missed anything.)

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 18:03

The poster said that I would have to avoid X, y and z organisations if that's how I feel so I said well as I don't have anything to do with them anyway it will have no impact on me.

What's do hard to understand about that?

I can still have an opinion on posie and indeed this youtuber even though they have little impact on my life surely?

I can have opinions on lots of things that have no impact on my life other than in a philosophical way.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 18:06

But Posie doesn't have to affect you - she'd be pretty easy to avoid too.

Sounds to me like you are trying to influence us.

Perrys · 17/10/2019 18:14

But I want my name back @mumsnethq

Perrys · 17/10/2019 18:15

Omg am driveling on wrong thread sorry

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 18:18

I'm trying to understand why people who claim to be feminists first and foremost can be so quick to set aside their feminist ideals.

Please could you iterate those "feminist ideals" for us?

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 18:18

Omg am driveling on wrong thread sorry

Sympathies, darling!

Perrys · 17/10/2019 18:22

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 18:30

I'm trying to understand why people who claim to be feminists first and foremost can be so quick to set aside their feminist ideals.

When I first joined MN, many years, and many usernames ago, before the trans issues started kicking off, Posie was a prolific poster. Her "feminist ideals" are very similar to my own. She has always been extremely pro-women and girls - and argued against rape culture, MVAW, porn, the sex industry and so on - and how damaging these things are to women, and how women are disproportionately affected by these things.

The question I'd like to ask is - why are so many feminists so willing to set aside women and girls, to include male-born/ male-bodied people in their feminism?

Datun · 17/10/2019 18:33

Posie's MO is to be controversial and provocative, she is doing whatever she can to raise awareness, to shout her message from the rooftops. And she does it well.

Indeed she does. And this is an absolute masterclass.

We've been talking about her for three days!!!!

Datun · 17/10/2019 18:34

I wonder how many people have popped over to her Facebook page on the back of this thread, to see her outrage, fear and fury.

And hair, of course.

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 18:53

We've been talking about her for three days!!!!

What with this and poor Jen's SPaG failing under pressure, I am unable to keep a straight face.

Datun · 17/10/2019 19:00

Yeah but no but yeah but no but

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 19:01

But Posie doesn't have to affect you - she'd be pretty easy to avoid too.

I'm talking about her because I'm on a thread that is talking about her.

If you don't want to be on a thread discussing her, then why are you here? It seems strange to join a thread with her as the subject and then complain that people are talking about her.
