Is anyone else aware that Posie is doing an interview with controversial youtuber, j.f. gariepy? didn't expect to see that...

You seem to think that being interviewed by a person = collaborating with them

That's what it's called on YouTube.

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 16:34

I do think GC and feminism need to be split up on mumsnet and in general to avoid this confusion.

I’m glad to see Posie has taken ‘feminist’ out of her bio. At least she’s stopped kidding herself.

BeyondAvoidant · 17/10/2019 16:39

But his misogynistic views mean nothing without a definition of woman that relies on sex! There is literally no point in challenging "women are just as violent as men" when (physical, biological, every sensible definition there is) males are included in the statistics.

Datun · 17/10/2019 16:43

I wouldn't notice if she put dog in her bio. You do seem to be rather obsessed, I must say.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:43

Is that what he says then?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:45

I wouldn't notice if she put dog in her bio. You do seem to be rather obsessed, I must say.

But the thread is about her. How can we discuss the op without discussing the subject of the op?

BeyondAvoidant · 17/10/2019 16:47

It was in the video re domestic abuse, and FWIW Posie did challenge it.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:48

I just find it eye opening that so many posters will excuse practically everything

I’d have thought your eyes would be well and truly open by now. So why are you still going on about it

Not suggesting you should stop, just that if the objective of all your posting was to open your eyes, I’d have thought you’d have achieved it by this point

Datun · 17/10/2019 16:48

Think perhaps you need a soothing camomile tea, tequila. I'm sure Posie doesn't even know that either of you exist.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:49

It does seem weird that the Posie denouners are also the Posie experts

I haven’t a clue what her bio says

Datun · 17/10/2019 16:51

I haven’t a clue what her bio says

Me neither. Although, I still like her hair.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:51

Her hair is indeed excellent

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 16:54

Are those two still going on about it? Talk about obsessive behaviour.

Give it up Early and Tequila. You've persuaded as many as you'll ever be able to persuade to shun her, which by all accounts is not far from zero.

BickerinBrattle · 17/10/2019 16:54

Early. What are you doing about the right wing transwoman Billionaire Jennifer Pritzker? Unlike a YouTuber with a few thousand watchers (you may not realize that the Americas are quite large and a few thousand people are a microscopic drop in the vast sea of the populace) —

Unlike that person who has you so hot under the collar, Pritzker is quite powerful and has endowed a chair in trans studies at the University of Victoria in Canada. Should genderists boycott that university department because it’s funded by a right winger? Have you condemned the genderists accepting Pritzker money?

Because really, when you compare the reach of influence, there is no comparison. I think genderists must right now renounce all connection to this racist right winger billionaire, or else their entire movement and philosophy is utterly tainted.

And most of all — refuse the money. That’s the hard part, I know. A million here, a few million there has, after all, made SUCH a difference. But it is tainted money and those who’ve accepted it have stained hands.

Personally, I think accepting the endorsement of GCHQ was a step too far. But what do I know?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 17:04

I don't know who any of those people are, nor what their views are but my opinion is that yes, everyone should boycott services or businesses owned or supported by those with abhorrent views.

People who discriminate on the grounds of race, sex, religion, disability, sexual orientation and transgenderism don't deserve my custom and I do my best to avoid them.

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 17:10

I denounce all racists and any connection with them.

If this thread were about anyone else, I’d say the same.

I do however, highly doubt if the thread was about anyone else who participated in generating revenue to a white supremacist without challenging him, there would be a single poster announcing that person as ‘inspiring’ Hmm

Luckily, in the real world that is, people rarely openly make excuses for those who rub shoulders with Nazis.

BeyondAvoidant · 17/10/2019 17:11

Are you concerned at all that your participation here tars you with the same brush as the women you disagree with? That your legitimising what some people think are our literally hateful, whatever-phobic alt right views? Or is that somehow different?

BeyondAvoidant · 17/10/2019 17:12

*you're

(that mistake deserves any distancing from my posts!)

Datun · 17/10/2019 17:13

Luckily, in the real world that is, people rarely openly make excuses for those who rub shoulders with Nazis.

Oh early 😆. Seriously, you're going to give yourself an ulcer.

BickerinBrattle · 17/10/2019 17:14

That’s good. In the US, that would mean not attending any events sponsored by the Human Rights Coalition or GLAAD, the American equivalents to Stonewall.

In fact, it might mean, in the U.K., boycotting Stonewall, because it’s a fair bet that some of Pritzker’s internationally-acquired billions are in sterling and that some of that has made its way to Stonewall’s coffers.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 17:31

I concur with the posts regarding Posie's hair. It's awesome.

Butterisbest · 17/10/2019 17:32

My place in this world right now is to tell people what is happening to women and children, it is not to gain popularity points or to please certain women. It is to ensure that no one can say they didn't know that we are mutilating kids and stealing women's rights

I've just copied this from Posie's Facebook page.
Early and Tequila
If you're that pissed off and angry about what Posie is doing, why don't you go over to her public page on Facebook and tell her.
Berating Women on here will make no difference to Posie.

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 17:42

Tequila & Early - from your posts on here, it doesn't seem your views ally with Posie's at all - so you're not going to agree with anything she does or says, really, are you? You're going to be offended by her message however she delivers it.

Posie's MO is to be controversial and provocative, she is doing whatever she can to raise awareness, to shout her message from the rooftops. And she does it well.
