Is anyone else aware that Posie is doing an interview with controversial youtuber, j.f. gariepy? didn't expect to see that...

I honestly don't get it. Do People genuinely not see that Posie is petrified and outraged about what's being done to children?

If you disagree with her, never invoke her. Don't buy her stuff, don't click on her videos.

All this time expended on scolding a bunch of random women is weird.

Comments putting down the children of “right wing” parents are gross. Kids are kids, and right and left parents love their kids.

Also, some Conservative parents would prefer a son over a tomboy daughter OR a daughter over an “girly” son.

So their children, especially in religious, homophobic communities, can be particularly vulnerable.

2BthatUnnoticed · 17/10/2019 15:03

That was to Teq not Datun - yes I agree, if you dislike PP just grey rock her!

SimplyTheWorst · 17/10/2019 15:07

All this time expended on scolding a bunch of random women is weird.

It's all about the desire for power and control.

However, they are failing in their misogynist attempts to achieve the shunning of a specific person.

How can I see his views though without watching his videos? The minute or so of one video that I saw was bad enough. I don't want to watch others just so that I can go and challenge him on Twitter.

Tbh, everyone knows what he is very quickly. What I think is more concerning is when respected people join forces with people like that because it almost removes the shock factor from them.

So, come across him on his own and hopefully, most decent people would judge him for what he is. Watch him collaborating with a white, middle class moderate woman and I think less people will see him for what he is. How did Trump or Forage come to gain such popularity? Somewhere along the line there views stopped being on the fringes and became acceptable as mainstream. How?

2BthatUnnoticed · 17/10/2019 15:24

You don’t have to watch anything. Just go and tweet at him. We’ll all applaud.

If you haven’t seen his social media or videos (bar one minute) how do you know how he is? Are you basing it on prick news? Shock

PP is staunch working class Labor afaik. But politically homeless since Labor hates women. No one listens to WC women unfortunately. If they did, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 15:31

I'll listen to Early and Tequila on associations with racism when, and only when, they come here with links and screenshots of them spending three full days shouting abuse in Pink News comment sections and transactivist fora condemning associations with men who refer to Muslim women as letterboxes and black children as piccaninnies.

twitter.com/PinkNews/status/1184575491996606468

This not forthcoming - and let's face it, we all know it'll never be forthcoming - I shall continue to believe that the objective of all this sound and fury is to provide cover for extremist genderism: a project of the elites - queer theory-based, hyper-individualist, ultra-libertarian, capitalist-to-the core, as right wing as it possibly gets.

It's an absolute nonsense to think that this ideology actually cares about individual trans people, or the murders of prostituted "transwomen of colour", or gender confused children with comorbid mental health struggles.. Laughable. Ludicrous. Fight the fucking power, my fat arse.

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 15:46

I’m not on twitter and I don’t read pink news. I do see this.

I’ll believe that you care about women rather than just hating transwoman when you spend 3 days fighting the likes of this YouTuber who advocates for marital rape and tried to impregnate an autistic teenage girl for visa purposes as opposed to arguing that people have no right to be pissed off that feminists see no issue with rubbing shoulders with white supremacists?

I want screenshots, until then I believe this is all just an attempt to groom of women into believing they are doing this for other women when in reality the purpose is to brainwash us all into a right wing society that casts out vulnerable people.

How does it feel when the tables are turned on you like that lang?

Sound like bullshit? Yours did.

Branleuse · 17/10/2019 15:49

Posie speaks for herself, Shes not feminist.
Im grateful for a lot of the things She has done as shes really put herself out there as a target to raise awareness of an issue, far more than I or most people I know have done.
Yes I am disappointed with some of the things she does too, such as this interview, but I think she just wants to get the message out there by almost any means necessary. Shes got more in common with the christian right, such as caroline farrow and their take on the issue, than she has with GC feminists I think.

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 15:52

How does it feel when the tables are turned on you like that lang?

Not been shouting in transactivist fora about Prick News glorifying Boris Johnson then?

Didn't think so.

(You actually think extremist genderism has some genuine connection with the real left and real progressive politics, don't you? Sad.)

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:09

This thread isn't about Pink News, Boris Johnson or pumpkin spice, come to that is it?

It's about PP doing an interview with this man on his YouTube channel so that's what I and early have been giving our opinions on.

All your demands for us to go into Twitter on Pink News and discuss X,y and z are just derailing aren't they and we all know how much you detest that!!

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 16:12

Posie talking to a sad racist YouTuber with few thousand followers = worth days of sound and fury.

Prick News glorifying another sad racist who is the Prime Minister of the UK = nothing to see here.

NOTED.

BeyondAvoidant · 17/10/2019 16:13

"Right down to the ‘won’t somebody think of the white supremacist children’ "

How dare I care about innocent minors Hmm

You know, it's not a massive leap from your comment to think it sounds like you don't care if the WS's children do end up getting transed. Which would result in their sterility, and then looks an awful lot like eugenics. Fancy that.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:15

Posie talking to a sad racist YouTuber with few thousand followers = worth days of sound and fury

Baffling innit?

Posie’s not here

Go and talk to her on Facebook if you’re so furious

Earlywalker · 17/10/2019 16:17

There is racism everywhere lang, have you not realised that? Or is your point ‘look they’re racist too!’ What are you trying to prove?

I think PP was the one who called for all trans people to be sterilised beyond, come to think about it.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:17

It’s been asked earlier, but EarlyWalker and TequilaPilates , what are you actually hoping will happen on this thread?

What would make you happy?

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:17

Prick News glorifying another sad racist who is the Prime Minister of the UK = nothing to see here.

But who here is posting in support of Pink News? I don't even know what it is, other than its mentioned on here.

Whereas many of you are supporting PPs decision to collab with this youtuber.

For what it's worth I can't stand Boris Johnson so I wouldn't wave the flag for anyone who worked with him or supported him either.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:20

PPs decision to collab

I assume that means collaborate? Do you think Richard Nixon ‘collaborated’ with David Frost?

Again, what would make you happy on this thread? You seem very unhappy atm.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:21

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly

For people to admit that this wasn't the right person for PP to do an interview with?

To admit that the end doesn't always justify the means?

That agreeing on one issue doesn't mean that you can turn a blind eye to many other abhorrent views that a person may hold?

LangCleg · 17/10/2019 16:22

When to wonder whether or not a political movement is actually liberationary and confronting power or only LARPing as such?

A: when a campaigner talks to a racist YouTuber with a few thousand followers.

B: when the movement gains the endorsement of and funding by big pharma, every major corporation, extreme libertarian billionaires, agents of state control and every establishment political party.

Hmm. Tricky one.

Datun · 17/10/2019 16:22

They're fuming because they can't make people hate Posie Parker. You know, that we'll known person who undermines all their gender critical activism. 🙄

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:24

So you’re hoping we’ll denounce/ shun Posie?

Why do you want that?

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/10/2019 16:25

I think we have quite different views about what Posie actually did fwiw

You seem to think that being interviewed by a person = collaborating with them

I think that’s rather a stretch to be honest

zebrasdontwearbras · 17/10/2019 16:28

It's funny, because a lot of the people on MN who criticise posie for undermining the gc cause don't come across as remotely gc themselves. Not all - posie doesn't have unanimous gc support - but a lot.

TequilaPilates · 17/10/2019 16:32

I don't want anyone to hate anyone else.

I just find it eye opening that so many posters will excuse practically everything so.long as they can agree on their opinion of the trans issue.

I honestly thought that what mattered to the posters on this board was feminism even if I disagree with you on your brand of feminism.

But it turns out I was wrong because you are happy to ignore antifeminist views just so long as the person you are talking to or about is anti trans.

In some ways I am surprised and in another way I'm not. It's something that I've always suspected but it's just that it's been confirmed now.

If your primary concern was feminism then you would be speaking out against the misogynistic views that this man has and deciding that nothing is worth promoting him to a wider audience. But because the person working with him agrees with you on your transgender views you're ok with ignoring his misogynism and anti feminist views, with him arguing that a wife is contractually obliged to have sex with her husband, in the same way an employee is contractually obliged to give labour to their employer?

So you're ok with promoting these views to a wider audience then?
