Special trans taxi services to keep them safe

Hey BBC, where's our front-page promoted article and video interview about all the things women have done for and by each other, for centuries, to stay safe in public? No?

The "look at poor ickle us suffering from these things nobody has ever had to worry about before" is so infuriating. We have been living this shit forever.

I'm sure historical queens have been pretty bloodthirsty.

Haven't really been as many historical queens in power though, have there, and it tended to happen when the male line of succession ran out. Don't you think the few women who did come to power in those circumstances might be under just a tiny bit of pressure to rule with power?

Ereshkigal · 07/09/2019 13:17

For context, Rapist Two of Three is a transwoman these days.

I guess C-PTSD is a privilege now?

Thanks
2BthatUnnoticed · 07/09/2019 13:27

I read it as.. they do not support female-only services... they consider them pointless and silly. But if others want to go ahead and set them up, they’ll shrug and let it go.

Like, I don’t support any football team, and I consider football to be pointless and silly. But I am not opposed to others playing football- it’s got nothing to do with me.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 13:57

I don't consider them pointless and silly, just to clarify - I actually said I can see why some women want female only taxis.

Ereshkigal · 07/09/2019 14:03

So Roses you unequivocally think it's OK for women to be able to set up taxi services with no male people, drivers or passengers, even ones who identify as women?

Glad to hear it.

Karkasaurus · 07/09/2019 14:19

I'm very surprised to see the previous actions of bloodthirsty Queens throughout history as being described as purely motivated by peer pressure.

CatalogueUniverse · 07/09/2019 14:21

Peer pressure would be from other female queens no?

Not many about.

CatalogueUniverse · 07/09/2019 14:24

Imagine how long a female leader would last who was performing femininity in all her ruling duties.

About a week I would think.

Alternatively name me a historical ruler who was a pacifist and stayed in power with no wars during their tenure. Any sex of ruler.

LangCleg · 07/09/2019 14:30

Goddess, are we not to 40 pages of bullshit yet?

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/09/2019 15:36

I see the Male Defence League have fucked this thread beyond making any sense, so I only bothered to read the first and last page.

GC Women: Fucking hell. So THEY get a special trans only taxi service to 'keep them safe'..... we're not allowed one fucking thing that's women only because it excludes trans waaaaaahhh regardless of the impact on us, and we've been living with actual, huge, massive risk for fucking centuries and no one fucking even notices! This gets more annoying and oppressive by the day. HAVE fucking trans only services, be our guest, we really do get the problem, but show some basic consideration and let women (Actual women) have the same! And have some defence from real, serious risk.

The Usual Suspects: so you hate all men/are scared of all men/ don't care about trans people/ you think all men are attackers how sad for you/ (blame, shame, rule of misogyny women with basic pattern recognition skills are evil, burn the witch and give men what they want) and women should have women only spaces BUT trans people should be able to be in any of those spaces if they want to with or without penises which may or may not be female and a lot of other incoherent strawmanning bullshit.

No coherent line of debate whatsoever, no engagement with the actual subject, one hell of a lot of very tedious filibustering. I get it's supposed to make the thread unreadable or something, but actually it just makes more and more plain that there are no sensible, coherent lines of debate and that people defending this nonsense have nothing but the kind of snarky mucking about you expect from year seven on a wet lunchbreak.

So.. Yet again. I agree with the points put forward by the GC women.

Ereshkigal · 07/09/2019 15:38

There's no need to read the other pages, you've covered it, Michelle.

BadgerOfDoom · 07/09/2019 15:42

More people die from choking on food than from jumping out of a plane without a parachute. But if you jump out of plane it is still a good idea to wear a parachute.

Agreed. It's definitely wise to use common sense.

However, it's just interesting in getting some perspective that people don't consider choking a serious or common risk, but do seek to regard the even rarer incidence of being murdered by a man as an everyday hazard.

I think too much time online can lead one to believe things are more common than they are. Like, for instance, I've probably not actually seen even ten obviously trans individuals in my entire life, despite it being such a omnipotent subject on here.

Datun · 07/09/2019 15:44

Exactly. You barely have to respond.

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/09/2019 15:46

Yes, let the boundaries down women, stop fussing! Never happens, it's all fine, you imagined it anyway! (and you having boundaries makes men sad.)

Been sexually harassed/dealt with a threatening incident involving a stranger who was male (yes I could tell, amazing, I have this gift like the idiot Moran) three times so far this year while walking to work or walking the dog. So far. Pop your bubble and try noticing other women and their lives.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 15:47

Nope, just differing viewpoints, they are still allowed you know.
Actually funny how the insults always start up when you come across posters you don't always agree with.
Year 7s on a wet lunch break Grin ffs lol

BadgerOfDoom · 07/09/2019 16:02

I was attacked by a pit bull type dog when I lived in London. However, I don't spend my life worrying about dogs attacking me. I just employ common sense and get on with things.

I think some people just love a good bunfight/drama, whilst the general population is too busy doing life to worry about a transperson taking a piss in the ladies.

I honestly think Muslim men present more of a threat to women and children than transfolk from what I've seen, but the identity politics crowd would never dare acknowledge that issue (hence the deafening silence on the Rotherham cases). Obviously NAMMALT and all that.

LangCleg · 07/09/2019 16:05

Excellent post, Michelle. You seem to have ignited a renewed desire to get the filibuster to the full 40 pages. At which point we can all say thank fuck for that.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 16:09

Renewed desire to filibuster, FFS lol, you desperately want people to just sit and take the crap thrown at them aren't you, well it's not going to happen.

LangCleg · 07/09/2019 16:20

Please, continue. It's for the best.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 16:23

It's for the best
Lol, if you say so

PurpleCrowbar · 07/09/2019 16:24

Where 'crap thrown at them' is 'asking pertinent questions', you mean?

Any chance you could answer Erishkagal's, Roses? You were quite evasive when I asked it last night?

PurpleCrowbar · 07/09/2019 16:25

& yy to comical flailing filibustering.

LangCleg · 07/09/2019 16:25

Lol, if you say so

I do. I really do.

Carry on. Please.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 16:29

No, crap like the insults you're just supposed to sit and take, or make you go away from the thread upset.
Nope. Not happening.
Can see why some people want the thread filled up though by renewing it all again.
The minimising of an assault victim in the middle of the thread who got upset and had to leave the thread was a particular low point.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 07/09/2019 16:31

The persistent minimising of women is even lower.
