Hey BBC, where's our front-page promoted article and video interview about all the things women have done for and by each other, for centuries, to stay safe in public? No?

The "look at poor ickle us suffering from these things nobody has ever had to worry about before" is so infuriating. We have been living this shit forever.

You find this a turn on?

lmao, I'm finding it interesting how people are interpreting turn on.
When I said turned me on, I meant turned me onto a new way of thinking.
A WTF moment.
Always good to see where some automatically go though, I didn't mean that at all!
I was speaking out loud as I typed and a certain poster did turn me on to a certain way of speaking with a specific, one post. Then when you see the undercurrent you can't unsee it.
Whatevs, people aren't going to get it, I get that, It has to happen for you (general you) personally.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 22:57

lmao, I'm finding it interesting how people are interpreting turn on.

It is the generally understood meaning. More irrelevant nonsense to filibuster tho right?

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2019 23:05

It is the generally understood meaning. More irrelevant nonsense to filibuster tho right?

Looks that way.

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:10

It is the generally understood meaning. More irrelevant nonsense to filibuster tho right?

Jeez, that really wasn't the intention when I said turned me on to a way of thinking lol.
I should have known better than to not choose my words really carefully though Grin
Are you (general you) really incapable to what's actually been said though in regards to other things being said?
Or is it a case of don't like what you're saying, it's filibustering?
As I said, when anything's aimed at me, I don't let it stand and I answer. Even if people would prefer I didn't.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 23:17

As I said, when anything's aimed at me, I don't let it stand and I answer

No you don't answer anything..watch:

Roses, what happens when a man says he is a woman that means he is less of a risk to women than any other man?

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:31

No you don't answer anything..watch:
Roses, what happens when a man says he is a woman that means he is less of a risk to women than any other man?

Are you trying to say that if a man says he's a woman, he's still a threat? Apologies if not
If so, I don't get the mindset as it's still all coming across as man penis so rape us.
Not a hive mind.
Just like women aren't a hive mind and can have different opinions too.

FlyingOink · 06/09/2019 23:34

Just like women aren't a hive mind and can have different opinions too.
Exactly. You can opt out of logic, and/or claim 6 out of 5 cats prefer Whiskas.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 23:39

Are you trying to say that if a man says he's a woman, he's still a threat?

Why wouldn't he be? What is it about those words that makes you believe him?

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:40

Exactly. You can opt out of logic, and/or claim 6 out of 5 cats prefer Whiskas

Yes, Yes you can.
Dafuq lol
It also apparently means that you can dismiss anything any other women says, and cats prefer Whiskas as a comparison.
Yeah, ooookay lol.

2BthatUnnoticed · 06/09/2019 23:41

Sorry if I’m being dim, but I don’t see what the conflict is. Aren’t we all in agreement that:

1. A trans-only service is fine. Trans people are entitled to set boundaries to help them feel safe.

2. A female-only service is fine (this does not exclude trans people as trans guys are included. It excludes only male people, both men and TW). Female people are entitled to set boundaries to help them feel safe.

Does anyone disagree with the above?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 23:42

This is too hilarious.

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:42

Why wouldn't he be? What is it about those words that makes you believe him?

Yes. All menz bad. Ban em. Forevah.
Or something.
(Sorry for not engaging seriously now, but this is the level you end up resorting to on here.)

Datun · 06/09/2019 23:44

2BthatUnnoticed

No one could disagree with that. At all. Roses and kark included.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 23:47

(Sorry for not engaging seriously now, but this is the level you end up resorting to on here.)

You could just explain why a man saying 4 words reduces the risk to women. You seem to think it, but why?

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:47
  1. A female-only service is fine (this does not exclude trans people as trans guys are included. It excludes only male people, both men and TW

Dafuq. See the utter splice you did there? (If you did, fair enough, if you didn't that's why I'm pointing it out,)
You see you're excluding trans people there with your sentence, right?
You might not agree they'll ever be women but you're still saying no as always men. Although you're happy with transmen as they have the foofs (presumably, in your general world?)
So you're (general your) not happy with transpeople. Unless it's the right type of transpeople that is)

Datun · 06/09/2019 23:47

Yes. All menz bad. Ban em. Forevah.
Or something.

Not sure why you want to do that roses, but hey, you do you.

Datun · 06/09/2019 23:50

So there you have it. Trans people can have a trans only service, but women can't.

Such bigotry.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 06/09/2019 23:50

You might not agree they'll ever be women but you're still saying no as always men

Yet you cannot explain how these men become not men. How does saying words change things?

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:51

2BthatUnnoticed No one could disagree with that. At all. Roses and kark included

Okay, what's this bit referring to?
Just gone back three pages and can't see it (damn MN for not having a quote function)

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:53

So there you have it. Trans people can have a trans only service, but women can't.Such bigotry.

Yeah, I haven't said that though have I. I've said that women should have a women only service available too if they want. Keep on seeing what you want to see and pretend I've said nothing of the sort though...

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/09/2019 23:55

Not sure why you want to do that roses, but hey, you do you

I don't, obvs, but way to miss the point

2BthatUnnoticed · 07/09/2019 00:02

Roses

If my niece was out with her trans guy friend, and two NB (but female born) friends, the four of them can use the female only service.

See? Trans and NB people can use it.

Male people cannot.

What is your issue? How can a female-only service, existing alongside all others (including trans only) upset anyone?

Everyone here is fine with the trans-only service. You are seemingly not okay with a female-only one.

Why not? Seems utterly bizarre.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 00:03

You could just explain why a man saying 4 words reduces the risk to women. You seem to think it, but why?

At a guess, those four words are I am a woman?
You're right, it doesn't automatically mean you're safer if so and those words are uttered, I mean if someone was that way inclined they would anyway.
It's the tarring with a brush that SOME have on here that if you're in possession of a penis (weapon) that automatically means you're a threat that I take umbrage with.
It's tarring all with same brush. I don;t take lightly to be being told how I must be or think or do as a woman, and I doubt men do too.
We're all individuals.
I don't agree with all out Self ID for example, think that's not a good idea. I just don't get why transwomen are all tarred oooh bad by some as they might own a penis.

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 00:05

OK, cross post, want to answer but what does NB stand for lol Blush Grin

RosesAndRaindrops · 07/09/2019 00:12

Ok. don't answer just googled and I'm assuming meant non binary
