Hey BBC, where's our front-page promoted article and video interview about all the things women have done for and by each other, for centuries, to stay safe in public? No?

The "look at poor ickle us suffering from these things nobody has ever had to worry about before" is so infuriating. We have been living this shit forever.

I'm pretty sure I recognise you from other threads, karkasaurus. Your posting style is quite distinctive. Just a friendly suggestion, perhaps FWR and all the threads centring women and girls aren't the place for you? I would probably not choose to hang around somewhere which made me so very angry and impotently rail against other women with opinions and priorities I don't approve of. I'm not sure what the point is?

I'm at more risk of dying in a car accident than being killed in a plane crash. Does that mean that there is no risk of dying in a plane crash?

To go back to the question of why there is support for a trans taxi service but not a women-only service: men can imagine it being scary if they started to perform femininity. They know full well what they might get on a dark night. Also, they’re happy to put trans people in a box labelled “ not me”.
But acknowledging that women are at risk from men is a personal affront. It also means women might get a foot forward. That instantly sets off their defences.
“The deaths of 16 trans people this year” set off this service. How many murdered women did it take before women got access to DV shelters? Hmm
I wonder if there was ever a Gay taxi service, to prevent bashing of gay couples?
I agree with the PP who said articles like this are part of the messaging that trans people are more important than other GNC/women/ minority group. Men believe that because trans women could be them. Hence we can’t get our state government here in Victoria, Australia to agree to quotas for women representatives after years and years of lobbying, but changing your sex on your birth certificate gets the go ahead pronto.

I don’t see why anyone would have an issue with a trans-only taxi service, there are plenty of women-only taxi services. If you’re issue is that some places are denying female-only taxis, wouldn’t your energy and emotional effort be best placed campaigning against that as opposed to having issue with a service trans-people implemented?

Yes women suffer too. Yes, most people give a lot of shits about that.

The first female-only taxi company in NY opened over 5 years ago. This is the first of its kind for trans people, hence it being news worthy.

First off, i ain't refusing to get in a car with people. I have my own car, its safer. Second, I dont know the people haven't done anything just by gazing at them. Third, the trans people are getting their very own taxi service, so who is refusing to get in who's car? Look awful like trans dont want to share. And that's fine by me,,do you hear me bitching? No, I simply want the same recourse to a woman only taxi, a woman hcp, a woman whatever
